As a member of Ctrip for nearly 30 years and a regular customer who has stayed at Marriott's Ritz-Carlton and other brands countless times, it was a complete mistake to choose to stay overnight at the Le Meridien in Salt Lake City. I was confused by the 4.3 rating and the new decoration, and completely ignored the negative reviews of some users. This fatal service became a nightmare throughout the whole process. My wife and I went to the front desk at 6 pm on July 1st. The lady asked for a deposit of 250 US dollars. I was surprised that I had already paid the full accommodation fee for one night in advance (without breakfast), and I still needed such a large deposit. So I was alert. I used a credit card with a full credit limit to enter the payment password. The lady actually told me that it was not approved and strongly asked me to swipe the 250 US dollars again. I believed her and entered the password again to pay another 250 US dollars. After I got the room card and entered the room, the bank called to inform me that there were two 250 US dollars frozen before and after. I realized that I was swiped by the hotel lady for two deposits totaling 500 US dollars. I went down to question her, and she denied it at first. Then I said that the bank had informed her, and she reluctantly admitted it, but she just refused to unfreeze one of the deposits. During this period, a guest was clamoring to check in, and was rude, asking me to go away and let him come first. The hotel did not have anyone else to check in, and did not stop the guest's unreasonable and rude behavior. I repeatedly asked her to at least send me an email to explain that she had swiped two deposits. After I returned to the room, she called and said that she was busy and could not send an email, and then she said that she was helping me. A staff member of a big hotel made a mistake, but there was no apology throughout the whole process, and she said that she was helping me. What's more outrageous is that we went to have breakfast early the next morning. The contract between Ctrip and me was for free breakfast for two people, but there were not many guests, and there was no self-service. I accepted the ordering method. When the lady checked in, she took care of the free breakfast quota of $25 per person, totaling $50, which I also understood and accepted. When we checked out at 8am, a man named Dennis showed me the check-out fee list, which clearly stated that we didn't have to pay breakfast fees. I also confirmed with him again, and he said that both deposits would be fully refunded. What I never expected was that after I stayed at Marriott's Westin Hotel in Boston for three nights, the Salt Lake City Le Méridien Hotel forcibly deducted $75 for breakfast from the first $250 deposit. The other $250 that was overdrawn was not refunded either, and the bank told me that it would take 30 working days to unfreeze it. The room is very stylish. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel room looks very beautiful. There is a bar and swimming pool on the top floor of the hotel, with a nice environment.
