Big4 Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park

bbq grills, microwave and stove in common area. really friendly hosts. full of campers. on site coffee truck fri-sun. 5 min walk to rock pool, the best we have experienced in nsw.

We decided to stay here as we had to drop one of our vehicles for a service nearby and we live 96km away, the opposite side of Sydney, which would have involved being stuck in peak hour traffic for a lot of the trip, so instead of it being approx 1hr 45 minutes, it would likely have been about 3 hours! Having decided to travel up and stay nearby it seemed sensible to take a second vehicle so that we had some way of getting around while the other was in being serviced (and we had no idea how long that might take!) On arrival, I asked about parking onsite for the second vehicle and was told in a not particularly pleasant manner that only one vehicle was allowed onsite and we would have to park the other in a street outside the park! Once we were onsite, we found that there was a large carpark just inside the park which was only half full overnight and many vacant tent and caravan spots, as well as the parking outside the studio we had had NO other cars beside ours! There would have been absolutely no reason not to allow us to have our second vehicle within the holiday park, other than blind insistence on following a rule. I can understand that over holiday periods and summer, there would be no room for additional vehicles, however, on a Monday night in winter, this should not have been an issue. If you are travelling with more that one vehicle, I would suggest looking for alternative accommodation, although there does not appear to be much in the way of hotels/motels/caravan parks, etc in this locality.

Clean and efficiently run. We stayed in a bungalow it was clean but the accomodation can seem a little dated. The housekeeping staff work very hard to clean accomodation ready for new arrivals. Clean linen was provided as we stayed 8 nights. It was very quiet at night. The children loved the water park. Shame there is no shop on site it would bring in a huge income with all those guests. We left something important behind ad it was handed in for us to collect. Thank you.

We stayed Lakeside and found the accomodation bellow average for the cost per night. You only get the bare minimum provided and the cleanliness could be improved. Maintenance should be a priority as the TV didnt work ,the furniture was in poor condition and the unit in general was not looked after. Unfortunately i feel we could have got more for our money somewhere else That being said the location is great, especially for families meeting here but all wanting their own space. I think the camping option is good and reasonably priced but the experience left us disappointed

Worst holiday park we've stayed. I don't normally leave reviews but I feel this is the one I must share. The room was not ready by 2. Why not arranging more staffs if it gets busy rather than advertising 2pm guarantee check in? We were only able to get in after 3pm. When we checked in, the room we originally booked had a very strong urine smell in one of the rooms and there was no way we could put our kids to sleep in that room. When I told the receptionist, instead of being apologetic she was rude. No one wants to unpack, pack and unpack while managing 4 kids. They eventually downgraded us to a room with cheaper rates. Pans pots plates are all disgusting. Bunk bed is so old it needs to be disposed right away. Because of the noise it makes our kids cannot sleep in as smallest move they make the whole place can hear it. It doesn't look steady too. They are sleeping on the sofa tonight. Stay at Umina Ocean Beach NRMA or Big4 and stay away from this place. Zero maintenance and I wouldn't even give 1 star.
