Castaway Beach Inn & Swim up Bar

The place is run down and in much need of repair. It looks so bad that you question whether it’s clean. On the bright side no bugs of any kind were seen in the room. Carpets are filthy as well as the glass of the patio door and patio furniture and microwave that didn’t work. If you don’t care but for a place to sleep then OK…but it still feels dirty. The pool didn’t appear clean so didn’t use it, although people were in it. On the bright side it’s right in the beach……that was the only bright side other than no bugs and the price to stay and parking….you get what you pay for.

My daughter booked this hotel as a last minute trip before our stay at a condo. I was not thrilled just pulling in the parking lot , it looks rundown from the outside. I was not ready for what I saw when I entered the room, the door was dilapidated and missing the corner edge where bugs and rodents could easily enter. The room smelled like cigarettes, mold and dirty laundry! The carpet was worn to bare threads and dirty. The kitchenette was falling apart . The tiny refrigerator was rusty and dirty. The curtains had black mold on the bottom and black grease stains on the middle of them. I saved the worst for last , I travel a lot and the beds at this place were by far the worst I have ever seen! They were dirty, sheets were gray/yellow looking , there was a stain on them that was either blood or feces. The mattresses were broken down and no one wanted to touch them to check for further disgusting finds!! We immediately checked out and left due to health and safety reasons. This place had what appeared to be homeless people living under the stairwell . It has a bar and pool that anyone who patronizes can use! Definitely not a family oriented destination for little ones.
