Very nice place, but I expected more of the location.
It seemed to be a busy street, but even in the weekends, everything closed up real early.
There was no staff present during checkout, so I handed the roomkey to the cleaning staff.

Although we stayed for multiple nights, we had to check out once because the same room we had reserved was not available. Since we were planning to join a tour, we asked if we could leave our luggage with them, and they gladly accepted and helped us out. When we returned from the tour and checked in again, our luggage had been brought to our new room. The room was compact because it was a regular room, not the guest room we had stayed in the night before, but the bathroom was spacious and we had no problems staying there with just my daughter. Thank you very much.

Hotels in Hobart are very tight and expensive during Christmas and New Year, so this one is good value for money. The hotel is a little far from the city center, but it is okay to walk there. This is a hotel with few rooms. The hotel does not have a dedicated front desk. It is jointly operated with the hotel downstairs. It seems that there is no service staff when the hotel is closed. The room is not big but it is ok for three people to stay. It was clean and tidy when we checked in, but no one came to clean and change the bath towels, etc. after three days of stay. Only someone came to take away the garbage every day. In addition, the Simmons mattress is relatively soft and not very comfortable to sleep on. It needs to be replaced.

Queen's Heard Hotel Hobart - perfect location for those who wish to eat out for breakfast/lunch/dinner, visit the wonderful Tasmanian State Cinema (across the road!) and walk/bus into town. This hotel is located in a bustling, alive part of Hobart surrounded by cafes/restaurants from many cultures and interesting little shops (inc. thrift shops). The room that I stayed in was superbly clean, relatively quiet (given that it sits above a hotel) and super convenient. It is only a 10-15 minutes walk into Hobart's CBD.

It's a fairly short drive for us to many eating places in and around Hobart. Queens Head hotel bar meals are always a standby when we can't decide where to go. Properly cooked and enough for the main meal of the day. We will return.

PROS * Location - within walking distance (about 2-3km for memory) or short uber to main attractions in hobart * Publican we came across showed fantastic service * The hotel is in a building attached to but not above the bar so there was no noise issues * Fairly cheap compared to competitors * Laundrette located across the road if you need to do laundry * Clean * Elizabeth street is littered with restaurants and cafes - pub wasn't actually too bad for a meal CONS * Room was pretty small * No lift to get up the stairs so you have to haul your suitcases through some fairly narrow passageways. Overall a good option for the price point
