High Hedges Apartment B

From the time we arrived we felt very welcome, Melanie was there to Greet us. Our apartment was immaculate we couldn't have asked for more. Everything was spotlessly clean, fresh flowers, fresh fruit and also some breakfast croissants and condiments were all supplied. Thank you once again for your hospitality. Tonight we are staying overnight at Novotel Southampton and it is very old, tired and inpersonal.

Had a lively greeting by Debbie upon arrival and she did everything to make our stay comfortable. Room was clean and well equipped, huge bed mattress was firm which suits me. Virgin tv in room tea, coffee and hot choc plus bottled water. Breakfast was very tasty not 2 much not 2 little eggs cooked perfectly. Again Debbie did a great job looking after us. Will definitely be coming back again. Many thanks Debbie 🙂

Lovely welcome at this beautiful guest house.Special anniversary trip made special by the host by leaving flowers, fruit and small bubbly in fridge for us which I thought was very kind and thoughtful. Delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and yougurt and a good cooked English breakfast. Rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean . Good bus service into city every few minutes. Would definitely recommend and we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

We arrived around midday and knew it was far to early for check-in, but on arrival we were greeted by the lovely Melanie, who informed us that our room was actually ready and we were welcomed in and shown around. We were offered tea or coffee on arrival which we readily excepted. We were then shown to our room which was bright, cosy and nicely decorated, kitted out with everything we needed for our weekend stay, toiletries were available, a coffee machine, and fresh fruit which we thought was a lovely touch. Once we had unpacked our things, we decided to head straight out for lunch, Melanie provided us with a map of the City, marking out the nearest bus stop (literally a 3 minute walk downhill) and also gave us info on places to eat and visit.The bus literally cost us a few pounds each (4/4A/S9) & took no longer than 10 minutes to get into town. We could not fault High Hedges B&B, from check in to departure nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fantastic, and cooked to your liking. We would highly recommend High Hedges, and we will be back next year for sure.

Welcoming, comfortable and excellent. Melanie is a superb host, and was very helpful with communications beforehand when I asked for a quiet room. Huge bed, very comfortable. I slept better than I do at home! The room had nice touches - bowl of fresh fruit alongside a tray of tea/coffee and biscuits, plus a coffee machine. Good breakfast with homemade gooseberry jam and lemon marmalade, and a cooked breakfast. Taxi fare into town centre was about £8 and it was worth it to stay a little away from all the crazy rush and noise of Oxford especially during Ball season when colleges can be partying hard til 2am.

We stayed at High Hedges for two nights with B & B. Melanie was so welcoming and kind - nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotlessly clean and tidy with some lovely little extras which we really appreciated such as a bowl of fruit, bottled water and a fresh bunch of flowers. Our breakfasts were cooked to perfection with generous helpings and gluten free options where required. High Hedges is situated at the bottom of Cumnor Hill. As it is on a hill, the drive is quite steep, but we managed it ok. Oxford city centre is a 25 minute walk away, but there are regular buses (4 / 4A) from opposite the shops on Elms Parade. Very highly recommended. I would be more than happy to stay at High Hedges again.
