I had to attend an event on government travel in Martinsburg, WV. I truly believe in not stereotyping people based off the location but experienced why West Virginia has a reputation for not being the friendliest for minorities. Upon arrival, there were two people at the front desk that did not immediately greet us or make eye contact until I approached and began speaking, there was no one in the lobby at the time. After giving the front desk my card, I noticed that my shirt was stained with wet paint. There was no signs on the counter to warn anyone that someone just painted in the middle of the day the front desk. Neither staff warned us verbally. Upon showing my destroyed shirt, everyone including the manager who arrive after we ask for her had a weak “sorry” and non chalant attitude about it. They acknowledge that Maintence person was there earlier to paint the counter after the fact smh One staff person even joked to say take our arm and rub against it for a design and said nothing they can do. I am also a Hilton Honor members and travel often for both business and pleasure. I will never refer anyone to this hotel. Save your money and try a different location for better etiquettes and costumer service. Not to discount the other hotel employees that were not a part of this subpar service, the room were clean and breakfast buffet was clean and fresh. It’s a shame the mindset of people in 2024 is very backwoods. I have to throw away my shirt from the paint stains due to their negligence of not putting a sign on the counter or even verbally telling us upon entering the lobby. Common courtesy goes a long way, I did not demand anything but a sincere apology would have been nice at least.

Arrive to the area for work for an event. Pros: Hotel was clean Rooms were clean Breakfast buffet had freshly made food Cons: Poor costumer service, upon arriving no one greeted our group at the lobby even when they saw us coming in. The lobby was completely empty. I had to approach the counter and speak to be acknowledged. No sign were up to say wet paint therefore my shirt was ruin by leaning over the counter to give my credit card, not even the front desk person warn us about the paint on the counter. “ I received a very weak sorry, we just painted “ and transaction continued. Manager came out and said the same thing then proceed to go in the back and print a sign of wet paint to be placed on the counter and retreated in her back office. My interaction with staff remain limited after that until check out. As a traveler and Hilton Honors member, I have Hampton Inn subpar performance on consumer service.

This is a very dated Hampton Inn. Walked in the room and it smelled old and moldy. Mattress had a topper on top, it was very uncomfortable, old mattress. The app was not working, I took the time to book on the app and check in on the app.. but the hotel was not able to release my digital key.. ***.. the WiFi was awful so the non use of the digital key must have to do with the dated technology in the hotel.. This hotel is not up to the Hilton Hampton Inn standard..

I stayed at this hotel on 4-08-24 as it was located just off of I-81. I booked the room using the Hilton app when I was about an hour away and decided that Martinsburg was where I wanted to spend the night. To provide some context, I have been a Hilton Diamond member for 10 years and have stayed in my fair share of Hilton brand hotels. As I was walking towards the lobby, I noticed a strong smell of **** in the parking lot. When I checked in at the front desk, I saw a display of drinks and snacks for Gold and Diamond members to choose from. However, the front desk clerk didn't offer me anything when I received my key and wished me a pleasant stay. When I asked if I could have a Coke, she replied that they only had Diet Coke, which I declined. I noticed that the store in the lobby had a refrigerator with over 30 regular Cokes inside, but I didn't say anything. When I arrived in my assigned room, room 406, I found that it hadn't been cleaned. There were no linens on the beds, and there were trash bags on the floor. The bathroom was also in a terrible state. I went back down to the lobby and explained the situation to the female employee who checked me in. She reassigned me to room 306, but she didn't apologize for the inconvenience caused by the dirty room. The next morning, as I was looking for an ice machine to fill my water bottle, I heard some employees complaining about customers in a room adjacent to the store. It was easy to hear everything they were saying, and customers should never be subjected to such behavior. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt that I should in this case. There are two other Hilton brand hotels off this exit, and I recommend staying at one of those instead.

taking a road trip and we needed a place to rest up 1/2 way. this was easy to get to - right off the highway. there are several eateries in the immediate area - with more around the corner. it's hidden away from the road but you'll get there. nice layout of the exterior and interior lobby. we were warmly greeted by sara --- i asked her about our hilton honors welcome gift. she apologized profusely by saying she didn't have any at the moment and she could make a few for us. we brought food into the lobby and had our dinner there - while doing so, she brought our gift bags out to us - apologizing still. WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! so sweet! i also saw her interact with other guests and she was on point - super friendly, didn't get frazzled. she explained everything to me - about b'fast and fitness room, etc .... super job sara!! room was well appointed. however, did NOT like the 'sliding barn door' on the bathroom WITH NO LOCK!! not cool, Hampton Inn - not cool. instead of the traditional swing out/in door, i guess they did it to save space - but it's so uneasy to be doing your business and there's no lock on the door. not a fan of this at all!!! rooms were good - - a bit on the small side, but well appointed, had what you needed. breakfast - pre-made omelettes, sausage, potatoes, 2 waffle stations to make your own, juice/tea/coffee, cereal, oats, breads, danish. dining area seemed a bit small compared to other hamptons i've seen but it didn't seem crowded with a full capacity hotel stay. this is a good spot to stop for our road trip - and as long as Sara is there, we'll be back!!

We were on the road all night and decided to check in late. The Good: The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and even recommended a few pizza places that would deliver late. Customer Service was great The room for the most part was very clean. Coffee at the front desk was fresh. The Bad: The Wi-Fi at this location was very slow which is completely unacceptable for 2023 There was hard water buildup on shower door The price was very high 140.00 plus tax for hotel with basic amenities The ugly: The free breakfast was horrible stale cereal, basic breads, and over cooked omelets, no whipped topping for the waffles.

After we checked in we went right up to the room before bring our bags in, when we got to the room the door was not secure, just resting on the door jam, so that did not make me feel good. We sat in the room for a couple minutes and could here loud banging, and what seemed to be drilling, we decide, after this continue the whole 20 minutes that we sat there trying to debate whether we should go ask for a different room, my boyfriend when down to tell the front desk about a the noise and see if we could get another room, the young man at the front desk stated that they were renovating the room above us and the work would stop at 5:30 and resume the next day from 230:pm until 6:30pm, we decided/were forced to except that since it was 4:30 we could deal with another hour of noise as we were going to go get dinner around 6/6:30 the front desk clerk did not offer another room to us or really any solution. 5:30pm comes and we figured okay we can have an hour of quite before we go to dinner, NOPE more pounding only quietly so they must have told them, this continue until we left for dinner at 6:30pm. After we got back from dinner I started looking around harder at the room and there was hairs in the shower, stuff running down the door the the bathroom, smears of white on the pull out handles for the counter, debris on the floor, I will include pictures. Also we have stayed at Hampton Inn alot we really like them that is why we chose this hotel but this one needs to raise the bar the "free wifi" requires you to down load an app and the instructions are not even clear on what else you need to do the other hotel we have stayed at just have you put you name and room number in and you good, never saw the cookies that were supposed to be offer and the breakfast was lacking orange juice machine broken, no options we had a beautiful breakfast at the Hampton Inn in Morgantown and a wonderful stay there. Also not to mention the room we were given was right by the elevator and seem just like a room the made out of a utility closet. The ice machine was broken on our floor with a sign to use machined on other floor they didn't bother to note there was no machine on the 3rd floor so had to go to the 4th floor. So the next more the pounding and drilling begin again, yes in the morning at 7am, but we were told they would be working from 2pm till 6pm that day, thankfully we were gone for most of the day but why would you sale a room that you know has construction going on above it and also not offer a resultion, ridiculous!!!!! Will not be staying here again and might not stay at Hampton Inn anymore.

A good sleep in a smaller, compact room. The usual closest or wardrobe was replaced with hanging space along the outside wall. The room was clean but the cover over the light in the bathroom was missing. The wi-fi was fast and easy to connect. The breakfast area was clean, and the food was okay.

This was an unplanned stop on a road trip back to NY state. Have stayed at many Hampton Inns and in my experience you can always expect a clean room and better than average breakfast. This hotel offers neither. The room had an odd smell to it and we decided that it must be the fan that runs continuously in the bathroom (even with the light off it runs) pulls smells from the sink pipe and you get kind of a garbage/sewer smell. Closing the bathroom door helped mitigate the smell some. Room was not very clean although the sheets did appear to have been changed and looked clean. Odd "no closet" arrangement at the end of the room which is just a curtain you can pull over a few hangers set into the wall. Beds were comfortable enough. Breakfast was not up to Hampton Inn standards by any means. There are other hotels in the area - we tried to stay at the Home2Suites which is just around the corner from this hotel but they were fully booked. Try any of the other hotels in the area - skip this one.
