It's all about the location and the ambience which it has plenty of. Bohemian, arty, shabby without the chic. Our room (no 3) was beautiful and i loved it. The bed is comfy, it's warm and cosy. The food is so tasty but breakfast was a bit like it had sat around for a while but we did get down at 10am so our fault! All in all if you want luxury and super clean don't come here, there are dogs, kids, walkers - they all bring a fair amount of dirt. But it's home from home the stafff are absolutely wonderful and friendly. I really liked the owner, she's straight talking but really pleasant.

Although we live just 30 minutes drive away, neither of my wife or I had ever visited. The hotel rooms were not used as it was a visit for dinner with friends. The hotel and dining rooms are quirky and attractive. Service was friendly but efficient too. We were made to feel welcome in a lovely beautifully lit room. We opted to share a Moroccan style dish as a starter rather than a dish each which was a good call as the portions are filling without being out facing. My wife had a superb smokey beef dish with an unpronounceable name- simply delicious and filling. Not dissimilar to a stir fry. I opted for monkfish and a 'stew' of squid. Fabulous flavours. Our other diners had similarly delicious innovative food. Only one dessert was ordered between the four of us! No room for one. The bill including a tip was £85 per couple including a couple of drinks for three people. I had water. That's not cheap dining. However, the hotel is set up presenting innovative and unusual dining and flavours we couldn't attempt at home. As with every venue, you get what you pay for and this experience was great.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we booked and had one of their themed meal nights, in our case it was Italian. We also visited the bar on a couple of occasions in the week. The staff were amazingly friendly, the ambiance of the place was welcoming and relaxed. We had dogs with us and they made the dogs as welcome as we were. The setting is beautiful and the building is full of character. The food was really good quality and very reasonably priced. I will Definitely return and probably book a room next time. Could not recommend the place enough!

First discovered this magical place in 1983 when my daughter was 3 months old. Have stayed in the hotel and most of the cottages over the years - as has my now grown up daughter with her own children. This month we met up there with my son his wife and their 8 month old. Jane and Rod would be so proud of how Angus and Beth have taken this challenging place on. Its a huge building to maintain, let alone the several cottages , but they are plugging away at it and it's more homely than it ever was. The food was outstanding, we were spoilt for choice with such an imaginative menu and everything was cooked to perfection. Though we booked the restaurant each night we also ate in the bar at lunchtime and even found we were able to have a cream tea on spec with the most delicious fresh scones. My son stayed in the Roundhouse , which we too have stayed in , and it really is a lovely experience. All the other cottages offer all sorts of options for accomodating couples, families or groups. Don't expect luxury, they are homely and perfect for sandy beaches, dogs, children and the odd rainy day! On the way we stayed at an Air bnb which was like living in an Insatgram picture - never again! I could go on forever about this place, I can't imagine why anyone would not give this 5 stars. As someone else has said here - perhaps they're just not Druidstone people......

I had been walking various parts of the coastal path, and called by to ask if they would do a cream tea. That was fine, so I returned with my wife, spent in excess of £22 at reception, and waited in a largely empty dining area for 15 minutes before receiving anything. My coffee came another 5 minutes later...Still no knifes or spoon which we asked for. Half an hour later, we were asked if were staying there, and politely asked to leave by a rather embarrassed member of their staff, saying that they needed the space... Albeit still largely empty. Probably a charming if unconventional place, but don't waste calling in there and expect to be welcomed.

An excellent position high above Druidston Haven beach. After a day on the beach this was the perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy a drink as the sun set. A bit isolated but all the more alluring because of that. On a local bus route although infrequent service ( but reliable we found). Took the obligatory photo with drink in foreground and beach beyond!

Beautiful place to visit . Stunning views . Friendly staff . Good food . But the hotel needs painting and decorating updating and cleaning better . Cleaning not a good standard.

The room facilities were basic but for access to the Skomer boat and the views of the Coast were excellent.
