I have stayed at Rock city several times and I say it should be your go to destination if you haven't visited the place yet. Place is quite, room is clean and comfortable, food is so good and pleasant staff. The place to be anytime you are in Kwahu.

The selection of rock city for our business conference was just amazing. We had a great time and we collectively decided after the weekend to make rock city our yearly place for staff retreats. Staff were pretty professional and they made us feel at home. looking forward to coming back at Easter as we were informed that Easter time is the best time to be in kwahu.

The only thing good about this place is the look and cleanliness. Where do I start? The reception was understaffed on their busiest day so you had long wait to get checked in. Dinner: We want to the restaurant and for about 20 minutes were we completely ignored. My friend had to go to the counter to order a drink for us and carried it back to the table. I found the restaurant hot so I suggest we sit outside to have our drink and for the period of consuming our drink not one waiter attended to us so out of frustration left and went into the town to buy food. Check out Day: I called reception on 1000 to get my shirt picked up and iron for which I will have to pay yet when I was leaving at 10.30 nobody showed up to my room. After breakfast, I found myself locked out of my room, the was a room cleaner who was around and tried her master key that did not work. My friend called reception and reported the issue, the cleaner advised she heading to reception to report it. 20 minutes later I stuck in the corridor popping my head throught an open window to keep cool. I decided to go to Reception to follow and I was advised they were aware and that IT will attend. I went back to wait and after 15 minutes the cleaner appeared and offered Togo to the IT department and bring someone. The IT guy came, made no apology, no acknowledgment, frown face like I asking him for his money and just started working to get the door open. He partially fixed the problem and was about to walk away till I questioned if my key will work if I left the room. After testing he realised the problem was not fixed, then proceeded toget it properly fix. Will I recommend the place to anyone? Certainly not, I will also not go there again unless I do not have a choice. For what they charge per a night it is not value for money. Their service is very bad.

The first time I visited Rock City Hotel, I encountered an unusually large number of lizards at the entrance, which was quite unsettling. In the evening, there was a power outage lasting over 40 minutes, during which we had to use our phone lights to continue our meal. Of greater concern, however, is the quality of the toiletries provided by the hotel. The expiration dates on both the shower gel and body lotion appeared to have been tampered with, and after use, my wife experienced significant skin irritation, including redness and itching. While we chose not to pursue any formal action at the time, I strongly recommend that the relevant health and regulatory authorities, including the Food and ***** Authority (FDA), investigate this matter. Furthermore, I believe the hotel’s management, particularly the operations manager, should be held accountable for these issues. Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Rock City Hotel.

I recently attended a conference there and found the landscape and morning atmosphere to be exactly as I had hoped. However, I encountered one challenge: some of the staff. While their customer service was generally excellent, there was one particular young male cook with a long chef's hat at the restaurant who stood out negatively. He frequently disrespects his colleagues and engaged in excessive conversation, with guests, often disclosing confidential information about the hotel and its owner ie days he is available, his office and alot. My colleagues and I were taken aback by his behavior. Despite claiming to be a long-time employee, his actions are detrimental to the business. I believe management should provide better training for staff like him.

So, we were in Ghana checking out this hotel for our big African summit next year. We decided to swing by their Mother's Day event with one of our UK team members. But man, did we get an eyeful! Some of the staff were straight-up rude, especially this one cook who spoke harshly to a guest's mom. It totally killed the vibe. Our UK rep was like, "We're outta here," fearing it could reflect badly on us if we booked the place. The hotel seriously needs to up their game with staff training.

I was at this hotel for a work event, and was quite disappointed. They charge a premium without delivering anywhere close to that standard of service. I had to wait nearly an hour in life for my breakfast on the last day, and when I finally reached the food, many things were already finished and they did not replace. The standard of service is really terrible and it was so crowded! I was woken early by loud music from another group staying there and kept up late with noise around the pool. The rooms are great and very clean, but that's the end of my praise. We spent a lot of money to be hungry and receive poor service.

This is about my 5th time lodging in this hotel. I started staying here in the early years when the construction was ongoing. At the time I had very little to expect since it was a project in progress. However I am writing this review based on my current experience. The Good - This is still the best hotel in the whole of the Kwahu range if not eastern region entirely. - The buildings are imposing and show some grandeur. - The room amenities are generally Okay. The towels are fresh and fluffy always - The price is okay for what it offers (or promises to offer) The not so good - The hotel suffers from the same Ghanaian service industry problem - poorly trained people. It is very sad that although much seems to have been invested in the infrastructure, the people delivering the service seems to be very ordinary. I will give a few examples - when I checked in the room, the air conditioning was very poor but we thought that this will improve with time, but no it got worse, around 7pm we called the front desk to send a technician to check what the problem might be, they never sent anyone, and the room was so hot to sleep in, unfortunately the room had no windows to allow natural breeze to cool the room. In the next morning we needed ironing done and it took them about an hour to attend to us. This is just a lax that is unacceptable for a hotel of its kind. - The Restaurant need to employ trained staff or train their staff...whew! I ordered some food and on the following day asked for same, but no it was different recipe..It was both funny and annoying at the same time. The restaurant will not put the bill on the room and so all must be paid instantly. I found that quite bizarre, that although I had paid at the reception with card, extras couldn't be charged to my room. In summary this is a hotel with Potential, but currently improvements are needed. If the ACs are faulty or not up to the task, change them or make fans available.
