We have traveled a lot around Montenegro and stayed in many hotels, this is the worst hotel of all that we have encountered in Montenegro! The hotel was chosen because the Iberostar has always been famous for its hotels, but this one is simply a disgrace for the Iberostar. 1) the location of the hotel - the hotel is on the outskirts, there is nowhere to walk! At the same time, the hotel is located in a mountainous area and you will be forced to walk up and down the stairs all the time in the heat. 2) food - at first it seems that everything is fine with it, but this is not so, there is a lot of food and this initially makes a good impression, but after 3 days it becomes clear that firstly the food is very tasteless, they cook disgustingly, only salads and desserts are tasty, the food is the cheapest, in a week we had expensive seafood 2 times. 3) the hotel itself - everything is old!!! and very cheap, the hotel needs to be updated.

It is an all inclusive hotel and they are not mean. The quality of food and drinks are better than expected. Worth the stay.

We had a wonderful week here at the end of September just before the weather took a turn for the worse.I had upgraded to a superior sea view room and we were appointed a ground floor room in “Luna”block which was great for easy access to all facilities and encompassed a beautiful view of the bay.The all inclusive buffet was wholesome with self service drinks on tap, which were quite palatable to an avid wine drinker like myself. We both found the food to be excellent and not once did I find a struggle finding anything to eat and I’m a pescatarian.Evening entertainment consisted of a trip to the rooftop bar for a tipple or down to the beach club for a live act or on one occasion white night, which were both enjoyed.I know previous reviews have mentioned about the steps but we really didn’t have any problems encountering the hills but I do think if you suffer with mobility issues or are generally unfit it’s probably not wise to stay here. The one thing which stood out to me about this hotel is how they taking sustainability seriously as I saw very little food waste, recyclable cups are used and a carafe is provided in your room for water tops up by the dispenser at the end of the corridor.I also liked the fact that silly little things like sewing kits, shower caps or other useless things are not provided as they are not needed.A big shout out goes to the lady selling trips by the pool as she was full of useful information and ensured we were fully informed of the weather forecast and the trip contents, all of which were amazing,as was taking a trip over the bay by boat to Herceg Novi in the afternoon as the sun disappeared at 1500.Montenegro is a unspoilt authentic beautiful country and here was the perfect place to stay for us,friendly staff, great food and unspoilt scenery,we loved it!

Still here as I write this review......lovely, clean and beautiful hotel nestled in a quiet corner of Herceg Novi....check in quick and seamless. My room was spotless with a decent seaview. No lifts, loads of stairs, but I need it for exercise as there's a vast amount of food(which is super tasty) and drinks available that I might need to shed before leaving.... Staff on top of their game-Very helpful, not pu shy, and always willing to help with a smile. Was on a solo trip so I could enjoy the serenity of the whole place. Highly recommended. End of the season, but this didn't affect service at all. Will definitely come back.

Just got back from a lovely week in Montenegro and the iberostar herceg novi, we flew into tivat so a slightly longer transfer than flying into Dubrovnik, however if you're flying into tivat depending upon bus size be aware you'll have to change buses nearer the hotel as coach will not get to the hotel. Check in was smooth and the member of staff was really friendly, he noticed that my wife uses a walking aid and checked we were aware of the steps around the hotel, which having researched before booking we were, but to help us manage better he moved us to the Luna building which is the closest to all the facilities. Unfortunately the buggy wasn't in use that day but the porter handled the cases for us and took us the easy way to our room. The pool whilst cold at first was nice to get into to cool off, and the bar staff at the pool bar were lovely and got to know my order. I joined in with activities run by Can and Nicholas most days which were fun. The restaurant food was really nice and varied but I will be honest as the week went on with more people arriving it did get a bit samey but tbh we put this down to the fact the hotel was closing for the season the following week. Did a trip organised by petar boats which we booked with the lady at the top of the stairs down to the restaurant, this was really good and well organised and much better value than the one on offer from Jet2. Also used the taxi boat also run by petar boats to go across to the bay to visit herceg novi old town. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel, yes there are steps but the whole of Kotor bay is in a valley so steps are everywhere, as long as you take it easy you'll be fine.

Amazing hotel. Location and views were just spectacular. Not that hilly of a place as a lot of people are saying. All buildings are quite close, so there was no problem with that for us. Room was spotless. Water stations was a great idea. Food was really good and fresh everyday. Drinks were also good, they even had branded whiskey. Which you don’t get in Turkey sometimes. As vegans we rarely have a lot of choices for food, but this hotel was an exception. All day long we had so many options. We’re especially grateful to the chef Ilja, who made vegan pizza just for us, which were so delicious ☺️ It’s really nice that there was a few evenings for the dancing. I had a lot of fun. Highly recommend. Would definitely return, but we don’t go to the same place twice. Thank you so much. ☺️

We have just come home after a week at the hotel and it is a decent 4 star inclusive hotel. Yes it has steps up and down to rooms, restaurant bar, pool and area near the water but this is not made a secret - it is part and parcel of hotel and any research/reviews are clear about this. This was not difficult for us and we are fairly ‘middle aged’ lol. We had a room in the block at the back of the hotel - Verena (hope I spelled that correctly) on the 5th floor - the view was spectacular! Room was lovely, beds comfy, shower great and cleaned every day. Nothing to complain about. Water in the room - there is a glass carafe in the room which you fill from water stations on each floor as many times as you need - I much prefer this as the hotel is clearly trying to reduce the use of single use plastic - good for them - it’s not a pain to do this and should be applauded. Food - despite some reviews the food was fine - plenty to choose from at every setting. Breakfast - cereal, fruit, yogurt, fresh juice, herbal teas, tea, coffee, milk and non dairy milk, pastries, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, omelette station, meats, cheeses etc. Lunch - salads, mixed salads, grilled meat, grilled fish, vegetable dishes, chips, meat and fish dishes, pasta dishes and pizza and lovely deserts. The same for dinner - if you can’t find something to eat to make a meal I would be really surprised to be honest. Again, the desserts are great . Bars - roof top bar is lovely but of course only open in good weather - great views. Pool bar and pool area- bar open most of the day, tables are close together and the loungers are close together around the pool area but it’s the space that they have. Beach area/platforms by the water - due to the weather whilst we were there, we only spent one day here - great views, with sun loungers and a beach bar. Great views from here. Indoor bar - there is a very small bar under the restaurant when the weather is bad, this is the only area that I would suggest try to improved on. It’s small the ambiance is a bit rubbish but I think that could be improved with more comfy seating (dependant on space) but certainly with better lighting, more subtle and not so bright and cold feeling. It would be nice if the hotel could have a more larger, indoor lounge/bar area that could be used to sit and chill during the day but also as a bar area in the evening but I can’t see where this could be done due to the footprint of the hotel and space available, unfortunately. Entertainment - didn’t take part in day time entertainment/activities so can’t comment. Evening - had the odd thing going off in the bar area but again didn’t take much notice as either went to rooftop bar or took a drink back to the room, which you can do every easily. Things to do - unfortunately we were limited due to the stormy weather as the boats didn’t run due to the weather but we took a boat taxi across to Herceg Novi when the weather was ok to do this and it’s worth doing this. We had

The hotel is on a hill, lots of step don’t even think of going if you can’t do lots of steps also steep tarmac roads become very slippery when wet so take care. We went late September so the season is finishing so can be very quiet.Don’t go if you like an evening walk it’s very remote. The hotel itself was very nice, clean, friendly. Book trips with the lady by the pool much cheaper than tour operators. Overall very nice holiday the things that let it down we’re out of our control.
