So we finally got to our wedding anniversary trip away to Cicada Lodge. On arrival we were greeted by the effervescent Jasmine and Nicholas, who were very friendly and super attentive and they both made us feel very at home and comfortable over our three night stay. The food was an amazing a la carte sample of territory fare, with for me an outstanding dish, the Crocodile Tagliatelle...magnificent!! Thanks Chef Lucas. The room was spacious and very well designed to allow a great amount of movement and freedom. Guest WiFi was available and no passwords or IT trickery required to get on straight away. The taps in the shower and basin weer unique in operation and I recommend a couple minutes spent to figure them out before you hit the shower. The team at Cicada went above and beyond to make my wife and I very comfortable and we most definitely recommend a stay.

We had the best time here. From the moment we walked in the staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The welcoming drinks and canapes at Sunset happy hour were such a special touch. Meals were absolutely delicious. (Although it was a set menu) 5 star quality. The rooms were very spacious, clean and modern. Loved this place. Highly recommend and will be back.

Cicada Lodge is a world class eco hotel situated at Katherine Gorge. The degustation menu was outstanding, incorporating local ingredients and great wines. The staff Jasmin and Jose were very hospitable too and made our stay very enjoyable.

We stayed 4 nights and all the rooms are the same I think. Spacious, well appointed and clean. The restaurant has a nice setting but we found the food to be overly complicated and expensive for the set menu 3 course dinner. Breakfast could have been so much better. Again overly complicated, toast is bread fried in oil on the hot plate (we asked) and so hard it was difficult to eat, bacon and eggs comes with a pile of spinach and an oil drenched hash brown which were not ordered etc. We had to ask for butter for the toast? I just think they need to go back to the basics especially the breakfast. Buy a toaster The staff were wonderful and obliging and the sunset drinks with canopies are a nice touch. The pool needs a major refurbishment including Safety Code compliance. We did enjoy our stay but it could have been better with more simplified food options. Highly recommend the sunset dinner cruise and the walk up to the gorge lookout (1 klm).

We arrived and immediately took off for a Gorge tour so our time at the lodge was very limited. The resort is lovely, the included breakfast and drinks were very good. Over $750 for a 15 hour stay was not value for money for us. I would recommend arriving at checkin, 2.00pm and making the most of your stay. Staff were friendly and obliging.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. The meals were absolutely delicious, especially the evening cruise at the gorge. The room layout was great. Watch out of the shower as adjusting the water is difficult until you get used to it. Bed was very comfortable. TV receptions was not very good.

My husband and I spent 2 fabulous nights in the Lodge. I can't recommend it highly enough. Marty is the consumate professional but welcomed us as if we were family. His hand picked staff were commendable. Joe was exceptional and his knowledge of food and wine amazed us and Paul was a delight, attentive, helpful and mature beyond his mere 20 yrs. It is the small things that made this stay so wonderful, from personalised menus, to little notes left in our room by the girls who serviced the rooms. The attention to detail makes all the difference. As a well travelled couple who rarely stay in the same place twice, we will make an exception for Cicada Lodge. Oh and the food - exquisite! The chef uses many native ingredients and is very creative. I thank the traditional owners for embracing 5 star accommodation in their beautiful natural environment and hope this trend continues and expands...
