What an experience!?! A beautiful ensemble of buildings nested on a hill. Renovation and reconstruction of an abandoned palace give it such a charm. You have to take the tour to understand its history and the dedication of the founder and current owners to make it unique. I wished we spent more than one night as it deserved more. It is not about ostentatious luxury, it is about being in a renovated palace, which still have the feel for the time it was built. The comfort is of good level. each room have it's specific shape and furniture. we took some of the "cheapest" room, but they were both spacious and comfortable, on the original sense of it. The nigh was chilled and we enjoyed having a small heater to warm the bed area. The bath room was nested by the bedroom, under the outside stairs leading to another room. Specific appreciation to the personnel mindset. Given the geography of the place, your luggages much be carried by hand for most of the rooms, even if some elevators exists here and there. They do not demand tips for all support they give you, the tips are collected to benefit everyone, even the one who are behind the scene to make this hotel run. It is a refreshing concept in Indian hosting business, it really feels different. All in all, if you look for some kind of authenticity of an old palace in the way to, or from, Jaipur, this is a MUST stop. We loved it!
