Very old school ryokan run by very friendly who has been working there for many years. Your name will be displayed on the board next to the entrance of the ryokan to show that they were currently welcoming these guests staying at the ryokan! We stayed there for 2 nights with free parking and we didn’t have to drive anywhere until we checked out as the ryokan is within walking distance to the 3 major world heritage listed shrines including The Toshogu Palace. Avoid room 312 or 313 (which we stayed) which are the smallest rooms. Those rooms in the middle parts are bigger and more comfortable. Do ask for any room facing the back of the ryokan and avoid those facing the front where you only see car parks with coaches coming in the morning bringing tourists to the shrines. The onsite Onsen for ryokan guests, breakfasts and dinners are the highlights. You’d love the traditional Japanese meals served there and you won’t be hungry. Would I come back to this ryokan again? Yes definitely due to its location and friendly staff.

The hotel is next to Toshogu Shrine, with a quiet environment and fresh air. The service staff are very warm and friendly. The room will be replaced with new daily necessities every day. The meals are top notch and I look forward to it every day.

I saw that there was a bus stop for the Nikko Toshogu route with the name of the hotel, so I booked it. The breakfast and dinner were rich and delicious, and the large public bath with open-air bath and sauna were also very comfortable. Although the room was a little old, the heating made people feel warm every time they walked in, and there was a kettle for hot tea at any time. The staff was very considerate and knew some simple English communication. For example, they could call to make the bed after the meal, guide the seats and explain the ingredients for breakfast, etc. The grandparents who delivered the meal were also very friendly. The pick-up at the hotel needs to be booked in advance like other Japanese hotels. It departs at 9:05 and 10:05 in the morning and can be delivered to Tobu Nikko-JR Nikko Station. You need to make an appointment with the front desk in advance. It is a warm and lovely Japanese hot spring hotel experience.

Old hotel but very clean, great location, can walk to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. (Parking in that area is expensive.) If you reserve here, you can just park and walk easily. Delicious food in the evening served right in your room. In the morning, go to eat at the restaurant. The room is very comfortable, sleep well. Friendly staff

Purely Japanese experience, sleeping with futon, very hearty Japanese meal, Japanese breakfast. Admirable staff. Location, right next to the temples. Just, the taps need modernization and the parking lots are opposite the hotel.

Staffs' exceptional services, beautiful and delicious dinner and breakfast, good size room, nice amenities in the public bath. Very close to Nikko Toshogu. It is excellent if the internet connection can be more stable.

The hotel is located on the premises of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, is quiet, and is close to visiting Toshogu Shrine, so the location is very good. When I asked for a pick-up service from Tobu Nikko Station to the hotel, they kindly accommodated me. Overall, the staff were polite and pleasant. I requested a room with a Western-style bed, but although the room was neat and clean, it was smaller than I expected, and the view was not good because there was a parking space next to the window. I thought it would have been better if I had requested a Japanese-style room. If I had to ask, it would have been better if the room was a little larger and there was a sofa separate from the bed instead of sitting on the bed and relaxing. Dinner was served in the room, and there was a table and two chairs for eating, which was convenient. The food was good both in quantity and quality.
