Everything was good.

Third time staying at this hotel. The hotel has been refurbished and the facilities are relatively new. The room is big and the view from the window is good. The open-air bath is a mixed bath, and there are women-only time slots. Many hotel service staff are Eastern European or Southeast Asian, and English communication is barrier-free.

Extremely remote (nearly a 3 hour bus ride from Kinegawa Onsen Train station into the winding mountains) which was both an adventure and unnerving. Made to feel like a foreigner with little help in understanding the cultural norms as a newcomer to the onsen experience. The in-suite onsen option was incredible, providing both privacy and ability to enjoy the experience as a newcomer free of the "ritual" imposed but not well explained for use of the public hot pools. Hatcho No Yu was ultimately a memory for a lifetime but came with a less than supportive interface with staff who treated us like we didnt belong.

Very far from Kinugawa hot spring station, 1.5 hours local bus and 30min shuttle bus by this ryokan. We went to this place for 2-days family reunion at early April. We enjoyed absolutely fantastic Japanese dish at every evening and morning. I cannot admire enough these delicious foods which are not soy-sauce-full, Kanto-like taste. On the second day, menus differed from the first day (dinners and breakfast). Rooms and the lounge are also comfy. We spent plenty of time In the lounge, enjoyed reading (as we planned), "gomokunarabe", and free massage chair. There was also a "Shogi-ban". Even though the snow was piling up outside, the wood stove warmed the lounge enough. The hotel stuff (most of them are from other Asian countries) work enthusiastically. We shall return!

We were extremely satisfied with the extraordinary experiences, including delicious meals including game and trout, an open-air bath overlooking a natural waterfall, and a stargazing tour.

We stayed with our family. The lodge was very clean and very comfortable. There was also a private bath in the room, which the kids loved. The portions of food were just right. The duck shabu-shabu was delicious. However, the food was geared towards adults, so it would have been nice if the children could choose what they wanted. The hot springs were very good. The staff were very polite. I would like to stay again.

I have stayed here several times. The open-air bath is very comfortable and I love it. The bath on the cliff that used to be there, although it is now closed, was particularly good. The food is quite good and the sake is also good. Recently, trainees from overseas have been in charge of the front desk and dining area, but there are no particular problems. What I feel every time is that the owner of this inn is probably an overly frugal person who has no intention of providing hospitality that is worth the price. If you stay in the winter, the large log house is very cold, but the centralized heating is set to an extremely low level, so you have to spend the time shivering inside wearing many layers of clothes. By the way, the heating is not working and the changing room of the indoor bath is extremely cold. If you stay in the summer, it's the opposite, there is not even a fan in the changing room, so you don't sweat after taking a bath. If there are few guests, they don't want to provide a shuttle bus. They make excuses, but you can't lie. It's been a while since I stayed here and I felt that nothing has changed, so I probably won't stay here again. The neighboring inn (Kaniyu) is inferior in terms of the quality of the food and the newness of the rooms, but you can feel the hospitality that is worth the price. Both baths are pleasant, so it's just a matter of preference. Overall, I recommend Karinyu.

Although there is the inconvenience of not being able to go by car, It was a very quiet and relaxing place. The food was very delicious I would definitely like to go again.

This was my second visit since September last year. Some of the employees remembered their return visits, and the customer service was as wonderful as ever. I thought it would be better to have hot water in the bathroom in the winter, so that was my only regret.

Most of the staff were foreigners, but they were kind, courteous, and friendly. The outlet in the room is already wobbly due to the tacky wiring. When I boiled the water in the pot in the room, the breaker tripped. The signboard dog was so cute!

I stayed at the nearby Kaniyu the day before and used it for a day trip. I visited in the morning after the guests had returned, so it was reserved for private use. The hot water is clear, colorless sulfur spring. White yunohana dances. The warm and fluffy bathing sensation is exquisite. It's likely that everyone will take a long bath, so it will probably be crowded if you stay overnight. This is also not exclusive to men, so it's even more so. There is no indoor bath, so what will we do if it rains? This time I was blessed with many things.
