It still exists!!! the Cosmopolitevde Nieuwpoort hotel, an overrated establishment probably not deserving its 4*, but hey, there are a lot of them like that! Room for 4 adults with 2 bath towels only, no bathrobe, it is a 4* I remind you. A positive point all the same, the restaurant “le carrousel”....... excellent, with almost friendly staff, finally bearable. The best for last: the friendly welcome from the staff. We are in Flemish country and it is better to correspond to local criteria. Different people, from the South, even from the far South, seem more difficult to accept. Several weeks ago, I reserved a room for 4 adults with breakfast and on the morning of breakfast, a woman responsible for breakfast asked me if I had reserved my table for breakfast. I tell him I made a reservation several weeks ago. She told me ok but it's to be sure we're all at the same table for lunch (?????), this one had never been made to me. 9:50 a.m., in the room we are getting ready to leave, a cleaning lady knocks on the door to ask us to clean the room, more than an hour before the legal time. The best: when we leave the room to leave, in the corridor in front of our room, a young woman from reception seems to be waiting for us to leave and immediately enters our room (???? enigma!), I think she was coming to check that we had not taken anything inadvertently. What a shame for this hotel and what a humiliation for us! Just a little advice for our friends “too southern and it shows” avoid this establishment, you will please those in charge of the place and you will save yourself from the inconvenience....... and it is a white person who will please you speak.

We were here 2 years ago and I was only positive, but not this time. We had a room on the 4th floor without air conditioning. With the hottest days of the year, it was unbearable here. We left the window open at night, but due to the sound of the seagulls and the street we were forced to close it... Everything else is present in the room, but there is no atmosphere. A very sad story. Booked a massage last week and sent it completely relaxed to the 6th floor on Monday, August 8 for the treatment, someone would be waiting for me there, but that was not the case, so I called the reception and was informed that it was 2 minutes before 10 am and someone was on the way was reserved for my massage that would start at 10 am. Upon our arrival, the full stay had to be paid immediately, which I found rather special. We were given a card to open the room door, however this card did not function. It was extremely hot in the corridors, the same in the room assigned to us (although no radiator was on). The safe in our room was also not working. After calling the reception, the safe is finally replaced by a functioning one. Grab bars were present in the toilet and bathroom, but they were not firmly fixed in the wall, so not usable for the target audience for which they were placed. During the 4 nights of our stay, the heating was not on for 1 minute, but the temperature in the room remained much too warm, even after the air conditioning was placed at 18 degrees for hours, the room did not cool down. The 4 windows were put in tilt position day and night, but this also did not solve the problem ... Some customers used the room service for dinner (which I can understand because the restaurant is rather a very noisy playground for the children than a 4 star dining place). Their half-eaten meal then simply remains in the very hot hallway until the next day, which creates a very unpleasant smell the next morning. There is not always room for everyone in the restaurant for breakfast. The buffet is not practical (certain things can be found at almost floor height). In short: not worth repeating.

Nice hotel. Entrance, bar and brasserie have been renovated. Room was already outdated. Good food and very nice extensive breakfast buffet. Friendly staff in the dining area. We arrived around 4 pm and entered a dirty, not cleaned room. Reported to the reception and without apologizing they said it will take another half hour before the room would be ready. It is a pity that we had to start our stay with this first impression.

Het ontbijt was superdruk en het was continu tegen de mensen aanlopen om iets van eten te kunnen nemen. Blijkbaar is het hotel toegankelijk voor honden en was er op het 5de verdiep op zondagochtend 02/03 een hele tijd een hond aan het huilen. De bedden lagen door waardoor je met rugpijn opstond. De dame aan het onthaal op zaterdagavond 01/03 zei ons dat het niet mogelijk was om te reserveren voor de lunch. Toen we zondagochtend naar buiten gingen, hoorde we een koppel aan het onthaal reserveren voor de lunch.
