We had one night on route back to England and totally enjoyed our brief stay. The welcome was friendly and reception helped with the bags. The room we had was very pretty and had air conditioning ( much needed ) When we first arrived we noticed how pretty the hotel is with pieces of art and sculpture in the house and gardens. The gardens and grounds are beautiful. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was definitely worth its Michelin star. Just wish there had been a chocolate choice in the desserts. The staff were all so helpful and because my husband and I ended up sharing the choux pastry from the petit fou the waiter then brought us another 2. ! It’s little personal touch’s like that , that really stand out .

La Chapelle Saint Martin has a friendly homely and personable feel. We stayed 3-nights in a spacious ground floor Deluxe Suite with a very comfortable King Bed and stunning views of the ground’s lawns and lake. Our main reason for selecting La Chapelle Saint Martin was to visit Oradour-sur-Glane where in WW2 the Nazis massacred the entire village of 642 men, women, and children before burning the village to the ground. After the war, the then-General Charles de Gaulle decreed that the ruined village would remain untouched as a reminder of Nazi brutality. Very moving. We also visited Adrien Dubouché National Museum which has the largest public collection of Limoges porcelain in the world. Amazing, and relieved us of quite a deal of cash at their shop for gifts for family and friends. Breakfast and Dinner were absolutely first class and the Soufflé was scrumptious! Staff that pampered us included – Annalee, Maison, Paul (Sommelier) – thanks for the tour of the cellar

Wow
This was a real treat for us, it is one of those hotels that you stay in and eat at for a real treat. Everything from the decor to the grounds were impeccable, and the food.......why is it only a Michelin 1 star restaurant, one of the best meals that I have eaten.

We stayed at this hotel in 2023 and as we were travelling for a couple of months we decided to stay here again so that we could have a relaxing time for a few days. The hotel is in lovely grounds so there is plenty of space to move around. We ate in the bistro and enjoyed the food. As before the staff are very thoughtful and attended to our requirements always with a smile. Thank you Aude & Giles

What an amazing place - a stunning hotel in beautiful, immaculately kept grounds. The staff were attentive and friendly..and my room was just wonderful - well appointed with everything you could need and the bed extremely comfortable! Highly recommended!
