3-Star Hotels in Nice

Nice hotel, rooms are small but adequate (recommend it for couples or solo), breakfast is basic but good enough. The old town, marina and promenade are all easily accessible (couple minutes of walk), and the area around the hotel is filled with restaurants, bars etc. This might be the only downside, it was very noisy in the party ‘rush hour’ but if you are looking for night life, this hotel is right by the center of it. Overall a very positive experience.

Very comfortable! d The staff is very nice, I was upgraded to the family room, and it is really chill to bring a terrace! There is a cold and hot water machine in the front desk, which is very convenient! (Pour water into the water bottle when you go out, drink cup noodles at night 🤣) The breakfast is good French, the only hot thing is a self-service machine that cooks eggs 😂but the freshly squeezed orange juice machine is good, and there are two coffee machines (my choice: hot chocolate on the left and mocha on the right) transportation : Nice seaside/street - just 15 minutes to go without thinking 😂 Airport - Walk for 5 minutes to Jean Médecin Station and take Line 2. There is a ticket machine next to the station (€10/person for a round trip), remember to snap the card when you enter the Tram Eze village - Walk for 15 minutes to Boyer Station and take Bus82/602, get on the bus and buy a ticket with the driver and it will be ok (€4/person for one trip), remember to snap card Monaco/Menton ; Antibes/Cannes - 5 minutes walk to Nice Villa train station, you can buy tickets on the SNCF app or use the on-site SNCF machine control, which is very convenient (one journey~€5.6/person), remember to insert the physical ticket Take Saint Paul de Vence - Nice Villa train station to Cagnes sur Mer (one journey ~€3.3/person), and there is Bus655 as soon as you leave the station (one journey €2/person)

My wife and I stayed for one week at Hotel Byakko. It is conveniently placed for public transport and in good walking distance of the shops and Old Town. The staff are all very friendly, polite and efficient and the amenities and breakfast good. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the shower good too. If anything, the hotel undersells itself, by not mentioning some of its amenities, including free afternoon tea, a safe in the room, shower soap etc in the bathroom and so on. We would highly recommend Hotel Byakko and would certainly stay there again if we are back in NIce. Thank you to all the hotel's staff for an enjoyable stay.

Don’t stay at this hotel if you want to get some rest. There is a restaurant downstairs so people will be coming after midnight and talking loudly. You will be hearing cars throughout the night. In terms of cleanliness it was ok. The room was a bit small. Not the worst place to stay for the price. Just a bit loud.

My husband, myself and our one year old baby stayed here for my birthday and couldn’t have been happier with the hotel. The staff (particularly Marion, who is charming and so helpful) are fantastic - always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The location is excellent for public transport and there is a Monoprix opposite which is very useful. Our room on the 3rd floor was a good size and we loved the balcony for people watching below. We arrived to find macarons in our room and although it was a day late I had a lovely card and Prosecco on ice from the hotel for my birthday. Very much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Breakfast was all you could need and the orange juice machine is superb. We would definitely return when in Nice. I stayed in this hotel last week with my 81 year-old mother. I liked the location of the hotel and the initial impressions was quite favourable. Unfortunately, this is where it ends. Having booked a twin room, we ended up with a double bed. After enquiring wether this could be changed I was promised another room which I looked at but which also had a double bed. I then decided to stay in the original room because the receptionist did not know which rooms were made up as double or twin. She then promised to send someone the following day at a precise time to change the bed. The morning come and went. Nothing happened. I then contacted reception again, which did not know about anything. The day went by and finally in the late afternoon 2 grumpy women turned up, clearly causing them more work, and changed the bedding. The kitchen is modern and has a lot fo good features, but cheap and uncoordinated cutlery, no knives to cut anything decent. The 2 glasses were so small you could almost call it a shoot glass. Just a shame to have a fully functioning kitchen without much equipment to use. The bathroom is small and functional, but the main issue here is the height of the bath tub. How can anyone of a smaller statue even get in??? Not much room to put your toiletries either. Storage seems to be a general problem in the room as well since there is a wardrobe for hanging clothes but not really any storage space for folded clothes in easy reach. The carpet is dirty. There are no reading lights next to the bed and no lights close enough to the table. It was a very dim affair eating your dinner. There was a sign saying you cannot use the balcony for sitting outside or hanging things up. Why even have a balcony I wonder?? What makes me really negative is, that the hotel randomly charged my credit card which is just discovered today. Let´s see when I will get my refund. I am very disappointed with the lack of care and interest of the place.

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions over the last 12 years. This is a great hotel, next to the Station, ideal for exporing Nice and the Cote D’Azur. This is a budget hotel, so the rooms and facilities are basic, but the hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a refurbished room which had a much improved bathroom. We will definitely stay here again in the future. The area around the hotel and Nice Ville railway station has been much improved over the last 10 years.

Location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic and yet we didn’t find it noisy at all. Shops, stores, restaurants and the beach are all steps away. Old town is about 10 mins walk. Our room was clean and staff was very friendly. I only took one star off because of little things like no boxed tissues (but there was extra toilet paper), no kettle or coffee in the room and AC didn’t work very well. We’ll be happy to stay here again next time we’re back in Nice. We’re a family of 3 with 3 single beds and 2 together. Even with that the room didn’t feel too small. Having a balcony was awesome as well

You could not ask for a better location- the sea is one block away and the best restaurants only 2 blocks...not to mention the lovely shops, beautiful Gardens, Opera and all the world charm that Nice has to offer! The staff at the hotel are incredible- always willing to assist in any way and ever so pleasant. There is a small cafe/market to the right of the hotel and an amazing brewery to the left. The best pizza is at 'le p'tit mesclun', which is just off of the Promenade...worth finding! Last but not least, is le Plongeoir, a restaurant that hovers over the sea- it is a magical place and an experience that you will never forget!

If you're on a budget and content with simplicity, then this is your pad while visiting Nice. I stayed for 5 nights as a tourist and didn't place my expectations too high, so I was satisfied and spending little money fit my needs rather than staying at a fancy or luxurious hotel. Mind you: this is not a hotel so housekeeping (cleaning, change of sheets and towels) is done only once a week (or not at all if you stay for less). There was everything I needed in this small room: a comfy bed, a desk with chair and small TV (French channels only), a small wardrobe, shower with toilet and sink, small cooking facility (crockery, microwave, sink, stove), a small table. The cutlery was rather shabby and primitive though, and the bathroom smelly. The first three floors were under refurbishment so there is hope for improvement. I must say the staff is very friendly and helpful, always cheerful. I wanted a kettle as well as a a lid for the pot (it seems it was missing) and I was given both immediately upon request. What I liked most is that the Appart'City is located literally around the block of a main bus station hub, and just a minute walk from the metro station Vauban. Nice is not very large so you can cover most of it by foot. It took me a pleasant 25 min. stroll to the port and beach, and likewise to the town centre. I still found it expensive considering that I chose one of the cheaper options around this area... but that's France for you, and a tourist destination at the beginning of June, no less!
