Rumours Luxury Villas and Spa is rated number one among 5 star options on Rarotonga year after year for a reason. It is excellent on all fronts. The accommodations are excellent, the service is excellent, and the location is excellent. We stayed in the Beachfront Platinum Villa for a week over Christmas/New Year of 2023/24. The Villa itself is amazing with a spacious main living area and Kitchen, two ocean facing primary bedrooms with beautifully designed bathrooms, a private pool and jacuzzi, and I believe what had to be largest private deck closest to the ocean in the Muri Beach area. This deck is where we spent every morning drinking coffee, and in the evening watching the sunset, and later staring at the amazing stars on display. Everything about this villa was superb. The staff were also amazing, including Toni and John who were always very helpful and friendly with lots of tips and advice, as were the rest of the staff! The experience was so good we are going back the end of next month and are staying in the same Villa. The fact that we are returning for a second trip says a lot, as does the fact that I am writing this review, which I don't often do. If you are going to Rarotonga, choose Rumors, and if the Platinum Villa is available, I would highly recommend you choose it. We loved our villa here. We were in villa 5 which is on the far right when you come in the drive. Not on the beach but heck you are so close to it, just open the lounge door walk off the edge of the deck and you are on the sand, just need to walk a few metres down passed the front villa and you are on the beach. Two lovely bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. The bathrooms are beautiful and well appointed. Excellent water pressure. The free unlimited WIFI was top notch! Kitchen was good with a full size fridge/freezer. There is a filtered water tap over the kitchen sink which is awesome to have. Bed is very comfy. The pool in villa 5 was awesome. Has a deep end which is super deep. (Rumours is an adults only facility). From here you are really close to the Muri night markets and both lagoon cruise companies. About 7 minutes drive away is Vili's Burger Joint, great food (burgers/wings/pizza etc). Plus many other food places. Definitely rent a car. We really enjoyed our stay at Rumours and highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious vacation retreat to stay here. The breakfast platter each morning was awesome. Drinks, muesli, yogurt, breads, fruit and condiments, and it was slightly different each day which was nice.

Outstanding accommodation. Daily breakfast (hamper) and initial stocking of (bar) fridge were fantastic add-ons. Even so, there was a shop across the road for food and drink. Reception/concierge services and advice were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance so it was the ultimate in leisure.

Such a beautiful place & lovely location, we stayed at multiple places during our vacation and no-one stood up the service we receive at Rumours! Toni was most helpful & the room service was 100% so clean , villa was well stocked & anything we asked for was not a problem, I highly recommend staying at Rumours! I must not forget to mention the 2 bedroom villa we had was to die for, a gorgeous private little sanctuary for us! we will be back!!

The place is near all commercial and tourist hotspots of Lonavala. The property itself is quite small and not as sprawling as described in some posts. We were a couple and stayed at the “Sky Villas”- unique in concept but could have been better if the view faced the backside of the property. Can sleep 4. Like any other place in Lonavla, you will get the large party who will insist on playing loud music and dominating the pool. The food is good, service is excellent. This place like any other would be a better experience on a weekday. Go for it if the price is right and you want to be in the heart of Lonavla

I have just returned from a five-night stay, which was the best accommodation and friendly, helpful service I have ever experienced in my wold-wide travels. Wanting solitude, with the option to explore from a location close to amenities etc, Rumours Luxury Villas and Spa ticked every box. Toni and staff were truly amazing. I will definitely be returning.
