Best Newport Spa Hotels

We were disappointed in our stay. When we booked, we specifically selected ”water view” and the room was advertised as having 2 ”queen” beds. Although perhaps both were technically true, we certainly felt ripped off. The view we had was actually into the atrium where you could technically see the water through a window all the way across the atrium - a couple hundred feet away. The beds may have been bigger than full but were at least 6” less than a typical 60” wide queen. Since we paid extra for the view we didn't feel it was worth the price. The room out of that context was nice, but it had no complementary bottled water or coffee and at checkout we were told that was due to Covid somehow which made no sense to us. The walls were also pretty thin and it felt like someone was flushing the toiled right next to me while I was in bed. Overall it was clean and the staff was friendly but it was not what we expected for $700/night.

This hotel exudes charm and the location is probably the best of all of the hotels available in Newport. You can Walk to almost anywhere you’d like to go in Newport from the hotel. The hotel is over 100 years old so it has some quirks like very small bathrooms. The first room we were given was unsatisfactory, after a second trip to the front desk to complain, we were upgraded to a more satisfactory room. This seems like a standard operating procedure for most hotels these days. I guess it’s a game you have to play in order to get a decent room. But one should not have to do that when they’re Paying premium prices. The in-room amenities were Lacking a bit. We had a great mini vacation at the Newport Harbor Island Resort last weekend! The experience exceeded our expectations by far. From the phone conversation for the reservation, to check-in & check-out, we were greeted with professional and courteous service. The accommodations, amenities and grounds were perfect! I would highly recommend this hotel/resort. Location, location, location!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Vanderbilt. I only regret that we did don’t stay longer. We loved how the hotel and our room was decorated. The staff were all wonderful, especially Elizabeth. Going above and beyond to accommodate my family and make us feel special and taken care of. If we come back to Newport we would definitely return to the Vanderbilt. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Booked a last-minute beach cottage getaway and couldn’t have had a more relaxing or better escape. Beautiful waterfront cottage, breathtaking views and treated like royalty by everyone we encountered. No lunch reservations on arrival when they’re fully booked? No problem if you’re an overnight guest, as they’ll escort you to a premium table in the patio section reserved for hotel guests. Want breakfast on the deck of your cottage? It’s delivered piping hot precisely when you requested. Want to relax on their private beach? A friendly attendant sets up your covered lounge chairs, side table, umbrella and towels exactly where you want them, and brings you water and frozen grapes. Storage for clothing was rather limited if you’re planning an extended stay, but no problem for us. We come to Newport often so spent virtually all our time at Castle Hill. Loved every minute and will return.
