Desk with desk lamp and luggage storage along with open wardrobe and bedside drawers/unit. Large full size mirror. The Queen size bed is comfortable and has plenty of pillows/bedding. Bathroom is one of the best I have seen In hotels with modern and clean fittings. Subway tiling with chrome finish fittings, large bath with waterfall shower and over bath shower attachment for when just your hair needs washing. Huge fitted mirror with lighting and ample space for your toiletries etc. Towel rail and door hooks all complete the better than most bathroom. Towels and toiletries/hand wash/kettle and mugs, glasses, quality hangers and the attention to details all complete a good value room. The hotel flows on to the pub/ restaurant. Being Green King the food is all good. An extensive food and drinks menu. Easy and user friendly app allows ordering from your table for food and drinks. Overall the convenience of both hotel and bar with good service and good value a highly recommendable place to stay whether your here for business, leisure or just a night or two r&r The New Inn @ Green King always hits the mark. If you have breakfast with room it's served at the restaurant with hot & cold options Continental and Full English. Both perfectly presented and quality products. Stayed here to visit Comic Con Wales 2022. Check in went smoothly, keys picked up from reception. Vending machines at reception and told about nearby Lidl and Asda. On arrival to the room I found the room very hotel. Room was pleasant for the price with a large double bed, desk and wardrobe. En suite bathroom pod which contained toilet, shower, mirror, bathroom shelf and sink. Mentioned at reception I needed a fan that night. Receptionist seemed to be in the process of being trained up by other receptionist. He was quite distant. Had to email reception a few hours later as no fan had been provided and another receptionist brought the fan up. Shared kitchen/TV room very clean with lots of facilities. Building very safe as key fob used around 4 times in the building to get to room. The walls are paper thin and I could hear the room next door's conversation from 7am on the Saturday which was very irritating as I didn't have to be up for my event until later. The room next door were stomping around and slamming doors. Even for the price, I would expect a shower I could get washed properly in. It was difficult as the shower pressure was very low and only a small trickle of water came out. Toiletries provided. Sheets were not changed during my 3 night stay nor were the bins emptied. There was no toilet brush which is basic hygiene. Top shelf of desk had not been cleaned and was very dusty. Apart from that, room very clean. Location excellent for local supermarkets, bingo Hall across the road and only a 5-10 taxi ride from the city centre and train station. A hairdryer was provided. All in all, excellent value for money and low price but a shower that enables proper washing is a basic human right and the very low water pressure needs to be addressed. The rooms and building need air conditioning due to the extreme heat in the summer.

Excellent location. Spotlessly clean rooms. Certainly a room with a view from floor 14. Fast elevators. All areas clean and tidy. Bed comfortable and big. Staff professional and friendly. Super large TV, plenty of sockets including USB ports. Fab shower/bathroom.
Holiday Inn Newport

Situated in the countryside outside Newport, just off the bypass. Plenty of parking, I think free. Reasonable amenities for our weekend function, though the Wi-Fi was weak at times and crashed periodically. Respectable food and dining facilities, not top quality, but okay, bearing in mind the discounted price. Decent bar, though the wine wasn't cheap. The beer was. Rather disorganised staff on arrival, they unsure what rooms were ready. They were also reluctant to print airline boarding passes, though did so when emailed to the desk. There were quite a number of radiators on in the hotel, plus a bathroom heated towel rail in my room, making it uncomfortably warm at times - this was May. The bedroom was comfortable enough, if a bit battered in places, plus the toilet leaked water into the bowl continually. There was no soap, only liquid dispensers. Could best be described as cheap and functional (largely).
Ibis Budget Newport

Stopped here a couple of weeks ago when road-tripping with a friend visiting from the US...oh...and my Husky/Malamute! I had been driving for over four hours and in was in agony due to various ailments with which I suffer so I had no choice but to stop in Newport on the way to Bath. We tried Travelodge who were fully booked so they suggested the Ibis! Boy...were we blessed. I walked into the hotel feeling almost crippled and asked for a room - they were full. When Kelly and Kiera could see how much pain i was in when asking for an alternative hotel recommendation they said...'We'll give you a room. We can see you're in pain.' The hotel has to reserve two rooms in case of emergency room changes; as it was midnight, they used their judgement to let the room go and allow us to stay. I have never been so grateful for the kindness shown by complete strangers. Kelly and Kiera are not just any old hotel staff; they're absolute angels sent for above. You saved my life!!! Seriously!!!

Cannot fault accommodation and service. Excellent room, food and staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The Celtic Manor Resort

After watching the hot air balloon from Bristol, I found this resort on the way to Cardiff. The room and breakfast are great! The price of the hotel can live in such a five-star hotel really worth it! The only dissatisfaction is that it takes 15 pounds a night to park overnight.
