This hotel is nice but the rooms are very small. The walls are thin and it is noisy. The location is good but wow is it expensive! The food is pretty good though but we were a little overwhelmed at the price point. I don’t know how it compares to other hotels in Newport but I paid less per night overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice!

From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was top-tier—attentive without being intrusive, friendly. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was a testament to the kitchen’s creativity and commitment to quality. From the first bite to the last, the flavors were bold, balanced, and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s passion behind every plate. I am a very picky eater, and to be able to pick a starter and entree with no problems is incredible. Knowing that a friend of mine is the chef made the experience even more meaningful, but I can honestly say this place would have blown me away regardless. Their talent shines through in every course, and it’s clear that the entire team is dedicated to excellence. If you’re looking for a place where great food and great service come together seamlessly, this is it. I’ll definitely be back again and again and bringing others with me. I definitely recommend FLORA !

Gardiner House was superb in every way. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The bar has lovely drinks and staff who are friendly and accommodating and the food in Flora is mega. From the welcome when we arrived to the moment we left, the team working at Gardiner make you feel so at home. They know just when to dip in and out of conversation and when to pop up and serve you something you didn't even know you needed. The chefs all come out the kitchen, management are present and truly nothing is too much trouble. the weather was poor when we came to newport so we spent a fair bit of time in the house with our daughters (a teen and a baby) and we loved it so much, we cannot wait to be back.

I visited Flora with my family for the first time this past Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by our service! Our waitress, Allison went above and beyond for us the whole night. Overall a very enjoyable expirence. Good food and nice atmosphere! Will be returning!

Second stay at Gardiner house and it just keeps getting better. First visited for NYE weekend with 2 other couples in December 2023 and loved it. Second visit was this April, and it just got better. Gardiner House is beautiful venue! It's location made it easy to walk to Cliff Walk and to restaurants and shopping. I especially loved that we had a reserved parking spot in their indoor garage. Special thanks to Dominick and Ruthie for their welcoming smiles and fabulous service. Bravo to the management of Gardiner House. See you in the summer!

Went with friends and family for Sunday brunch. Delicious food and drinks, gorgeous atmosphere, outstanding staff! The head chef, Miguel, is a treasure and maitre’d Vidal, is the epitome of hospitality. As a year round local, we’ve previously been for drinks Studio bar, and drinks and bites at the Flora bar, and dinner for 10 at Flora. Highly recommend!

We went for thanksgiving holiday 2024 the quality and portions of food were very very poor. Surprised and shocked at what we were being served considering the surroundings, service and upscale feel for a $90 price fixe cost. The wild mushroom soup lacked any flavor, severely under seasoned, the turkey was barely average, the ham dry and looked like it was sitting for hours. (2 small 1/4 size slices served as the main)The sides were average at best and under seasoned, the stuffing balls were dry, flavorless, and various sizes. Presentation looked like amateur home cooking. There was nothing gourmet about the meal, looked like cafeteria food. Our total was approx $350 for 3 ppl, no alcohol just 2 sodas. The meal ended with ice cold slices of pumpkin pie (literary super cold) watery in texture with the tiniest mini scoop of ice cream. I’m literally shocked that food of that quality and presentation left the kitchen of such a restaurant. Look up the reviews by Hendrikus, Carleigh NYC, and Philip B, confirms it all.

Wow! We had breakfast at the Gardner house and it was simply delicious! Fluffy eggs, homemade croissants, fresh orange juice, good coffee, sausages, bacon, teas. The light is beautiful in the dining room in the morning, great views of the boats, and a very hospitable staff! We felt so welcome and comfortable. A great way to start your day! And did you know? There’s also an awesome Pilates class at 8 am!
