Newport Beach Hotel

We loved our stay at the Newport Beach Hotel, but what made our stay especially nice was the hospitality shown to us by Chris Twicken and his female associate. They both bent over backward to assist us and make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you!

Those hotel is at the prime location! Beachfront and close to boardwalk and restaurants, so if that’s what you need, this is the place for you. I will say there are many negatives. It’s older and does need a bit of sprucing up, but it is extremely difficult to meticulously maintain anything near saltwater. They bill themselves as a boutique hotel and it definitely fits the description of that. Now for the negatives. Stairs! There is no elevators and this hotel has many stairs. I had just had knee surgery and it was quite difficult navigating. The next problem is parking. You cannot have a larger vehicle in this parking lot. It is tiny! There is one spot per room, , So I’m not sure how it’s full when the hotel isn’t. It is gated and requires room key to enter. They also charge &30/day. I find that a bit ridiculous since it’s their property and have one spot per room. There are no refrigerators in the rooms. They do have one behind the bar that they will allow guest to put drinks, medicine, ect. The positives: They do have a small continental breakfast in the morning. Not heavy food which is nice when you’re headed to the beach! Speaking of the beach, it is the only hotel in this area directly on the beach. They also provide chairs, umbrellas, beach towels and even sunscreen! That’s a true perk! Finally, the staff is incredibly nice. We had no issues with that at all. Overall, we liked our stay.

We came to celebrate my son’s 13th birthday and we had an amazing experience. Tony, Chris, and all the staff were both very attentive and helpful during our stay. They had excellent recommendations for dining and experiences nearby - this hotel is small, quaint and conveniently located- we will definitely be coming back very soon!

Room was amazing! Everything you could want! The lobby is beautiful and a lovely place to sit and relax. Amazing staff and wonderful amenities. You could borrow bikes and there’s always snacks and things for the beach available for use. A must do again!

Flight was a bit delayed but they stayed in touch by text message the whole way through - that was odd. Very personal touch, and it set the stage for an amazing stay. Attentive, friendly staff. Lovely amenities and very cool setting! If we can make it work, we will definitely be back!

One night quick stay, but great location on the beach next to Mutt Lynch's... Room comfy and clean. Not glamorous, but very good. Continental breakfast was good. Coffee very good. My regret was it was a quick one night stay, and couldn't fully enjoy and experience it. Would go back.

We had a great experience from the day we arrived to the day we checked out. Chris and Hunter were accommodating and very helpful with our check in, and Chris made sure we had everything we needed throughout our trip. We booked two, one bedroom suites and loved them both. They were clean and had a beachy vibe, located outside the hotel which I thought was very cool. Parking was made easy for my husband and my daughter. They even moved our car from the public parking lot to our assigned spot in the hotel parking while we were out and about. Everything you need is in the suites. There is a full sized kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a comfortable living space. I didn’t take pictures of our rooms until we had already used the space or I would have posted some. The suites sit on 23rd street, so you actually feel like you’re renting a small beach home. The front desk kept in contact with us daily via text making sure all our needs were met. The continental breakfast was perfect. They provided bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cheese, oatmeal, snacks, and a variety of drinks. And they also provide bikes, beach chairs, sand toys, and beach towels. If you like a beach front hotel, this is the place to stay in Newport. We look forward to our next trip!

Advertises as a cute little boutique hotel and appears that way from the outside, but my room seemed more like something you would find at a motel 6! As you can see from the pictures the place was less than ideal. I stayed 3/16/24-3/19/24, I let the front desk know about not having hot water on 3/17/24 as well as some of the other issues, all I got was a "I will let my manager know". Not even a "I'm sorry." or "How can I help make it right?". I still haven't heard from anyone, and it appears I never got my receipt e-mailed to me as I was told. I paid well over $1000 for this "room with a view and jet tub" along with the private parking. Also, their wifi is spotty at best. Typically I wouldn't care but I had to study for some college classes and spotty wifi wasn't helpful. I still haven't heard back from anyone, and It makes me wonder if all the other hotels in this chain are the same? 1. No hot water for 2 days 2. Rust on the door hinges, and toilet cables 3. Dirty fan blades, AC vents, shelves, and window tracts 5. Water damage on the walls and ceilings 6. Paper-thin walls, you could hear people slamming doors at all hours and kids running up and down the halls yelling early in the morning (8a). The kids running isn't on the hotel, but I would have expected the walls to be thicker 7. No secondary lock on the door, which made me feel unsafe 8. The room is right on the rooftop so you can't open your window to let the breeze in because all you hear is the AC unit. It also blocks your view of the pier. 9. Spotty, at best, wifi

It makes me sad to write this 2-star review because the hotel is right across from the ocean and our suite was spacious and well-appointed. BUT it is right over a busy corner bar/eatery with huge open walls on 2 sides. The noise from loud drunks, yelling, vomiting, made it nearly impossible to sleep. The windows should be baffled for sound reduction and window coverings should provide sound reduction as well. Urban European hotels do this and the rooms are quiet in noisy cities. We paid nearly $2000 for 4 nights. For that amount one expects a comfortable, quiet, sleepable space. Additionally, the person working the front desk when we were there lacked customer service skills.
