Easy location to drive to, about a 15-20 min walk into ‘downtown’ and the beach area. All on easy paths to follow. Staff very very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Good for a stop off when driving the coast.

Good place for what you pay
Small room, wouldn't want to stay long
We only stayed one night, which was OK
A big plus is the hotel car park,
you have to book and pay extra.
Location is good for public transport as well
The light rail stop and the train station are only a few
Minutes walking away.

Horrible. Tiny rooms. Smelt. Toilet water continuously running. Will never stay at Ibis chain again. Very expensive for what you got

I stayed in several hotels during my trip to Australia, and this one was pretty good. Our room was located so we could see the Ferris wheel opposite, which was especially beautiful at night. The bed is also very comfortable, the front desk is very welcoming, and the price/performance ratio is very good.

The location is quite convenient. There are 2 supermarkets nearby. The hotel does not have slippers and is relatively simple overall. It is a small place anyway and you have to check in very late. The price/performance ratio is quite low.

The cleaning was dreadful. The bathroom had hair all in the shower and had mucus snot on the shower door and the door in and out of the bathroom, room had a terrible smell. The bed only had sheets on it. The doona was scrunched up in top of the wardrobe wasn’t game enough to put it on the bed it was that gross.

A comfortable hotel on the edge of Newcastle city district. Very close to Honeysuckle district. Short walk to the pubs and cafes and by the water. The room was sufficient for our stay. Comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities. Had a cafe, bar and dining area. It served it purpose for our stay.

After driving 7 hours from The Gold Coast to New Castle we were looking for a friendly face, yummy meal and comfortable bed. All of which the Ibis provided. Thank you.

I left work late in Sydney around 7pm needed somewhere to stay called ibis and gave my details and credit card detail to the receptionist he confirmed my booking. On arrival around 11pm I was told I had no booking by a rude receptionist. I questioned the issue and he called the original person who took my details the reply was he didn’t enter the booking and now we are fully booked. By now it’s 11.30 at night and the receptionist did nothing else other then say we can’t help. This attitude and lack of care is the worth kind of customer care highly disappointed and will never go near this chain again. I will also tell all my family, friends and business associates not to use the chain.

My evening arrival was greeted by an unmade-up room, a free drink that could not be satisfied with a stout/dark ale or zero alcohol option nor the usual gold level welcome gift. On day 2 the room was serviced - that is a trash bin was emptied. Nothing else. Housekeeping was not seen again. Despite feedback two weeks ago about the rubberised scrambled eggs and poor clearing of dirty tables, nothing has changed. There are no side plates for toast or fruit servings. On the third day, in desperation, i asked for for a different type of egg - fried, poached, anything but overcooked scrambled and was told there would be an extra charge. No thanks, not this time or any time. I won't be back.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We hope to welcome you back to our hotel very soon! Sincerely, Jim McGrath General Manager

Stay overnight with my wife on our way to Melbourne.I have stayed many times over a period of times when travelling by car. The Hotel is in need of major refurbishment , the room smell of faecal matter, the furnishing laminate is peeling off, the little fridge is not working properly and cleanliness of the room left to be desire. A $25.00 AUD for parking your car in an unsecure car park is added to your bill, not very good when you are an Accor club member
