Worst place we have ever stayed in fact we didn’t and still waiting for our refund. No staff at all. Absolutely disgusting. Had to ring India to speak to someone. No food facilities for dinner. Could find are room eventually spoke to someone to be told where it was. Toilet door wouldn’t shut. We would advise not to book this place like I said it’s now been over 8 weeks and still NO refund !!!!!

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and were impressed with restaurant and bar. on booking for a weekend (3 nights) we were not able to take breakfast on the Sunday morning due to our early start on a rally on the ranges. We hoped when we arrived we would be able to book breakfast for the Saturday and Monday morning but no staff around at all. We also wanted to book in the restaurant but couldn't. No room refresh during our stay, had to make do with one hand towel and 2 bath, just enough milk and coffee/tea to make one cup each per day. Shower was no better than standing under a watering can with lukewarm water. Better advertising of your facilities is needed, so guests can make their own mind up. Even if there was a vending machine in the entrance that may help with people who would like a drink when your bar is closed as the water in the rooms not pleasant to quench ones thirst.

Do not stay at this hotel in low season as the place is basically shut down. We were there in late September and we were the only guests. The restaurant was shut and the only staff at the reception left for the night . We were told to enter by a side door which was kept open. It felt like being in a ghost hotel, especially since it faces an abandoned building with broken windows. To be fair , the room was clean but small and the attendant at the reception was nice and helpful.

The hotel is very good. The carpet does need replacing and decor a little dated. However it is value for money, great breakfast and the most helpful young lady on reception and bar, really nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Overall we loved our stay here. We paid a little extra for room 9, it was very big well kept and had a massive bathroom.

We stayed for two nights on bank holiday weekend 2024. The hotel was lovely and staff were brilliant. Food was delicious. Unfortunately we only had one complaint. We went out on Sunday for the day as we knew we could not eat at hotel. When we returned to the hotel we were shocked to find we were locked out. Seemingly there is a way in but we were not told about it. We tried to ring but got an ansaphone, seemingly you have to ring the bell to get in. we eventually got in and member of staff told us that the hotel was closed today. We came back hoping to have a drink in the bar but the lad said I can get you a drink but I will be going soon, so we were quite shocked that there would be no one in the hotel that evening. I was quite rattled that there was no staff on and we were there on our own. This was extremely disappointing on a bank holiday to find the hotel closed and locked with us inside. I think this should be explained on the website.

My boyfriend and I were really impressed with the Coach House in Otterburn. It’s in a beautiful location and the inside of the hotel is very nicely decorated and was immaculately clean. We stayed in room 10 which was a very pleasant ground-floor room just off the main dining area. The bed was comfy, the bathroom spacious and most importantly, the room was kept lovely and clean. Food in the hotel was absolutely delicious and was to be commended. We both had leek & potato soup to start, followed by cod, and both were fresh-tasting and worthy of any fine dining restaurant anywhere. For breakfast the next day we had scrambled egg and smoked salmon on sourdough and this was just as nice, along with a good range of cereals and yoghurt that we helped ourselves to. Lastly, the service we received at check-in and while dining in the restaurant was brilliant. Amy was lovely and made us feel very welcome, as was the young man who was also serving whose name I unfortunately didn’t get. They are both an asset to the place. I’d highly recommend the Coach House and look forward to coming back sometime.

Staying in lodges at weekend for my birthday and went to book table for meal Saturday night 6th January . Sign outside states to book online so friend booked table for 6.30 Saturday night for party of 5. Walked down from lodge to find couldn’t get in. My friend HAD received email confirmation of booking earlier that day. Rang bell for reception and was told restaurant closed all of January! Asked if anywhere else and was told try Otterburn village! We were all dressed up, my sister, a diabetic, had taken her insulin in perpetration for meal. Had to go back to lodge and ring round trying to find somewhere else. Luckily friend who took car hadn’t had a drink so able to drive to another restaurant a few miles away. Redesdale Arms which I would highly recommend. Leaving lodges today the notice is still outside restaurant advising people to book online !
