Staff generally friendly and decent breakfast , good location . Value for money stay ideal for a stopover

Convenient location in city centre, the room was same as shown on the photos, spacious. Comfortable stay.

I visited in July to visit a friend for a few days who lives locally. I parked in Gateshead as it was cheaper and a 20 minute walk made it easy enough to get to the hotel. Check in was really quick and the hotel is located in a nice area near a Tesco Express and various bars on the Quayside. The room itself appeared to be one of the ‘older’ style Travelodge rooms which looks quite tired but it was fine for my needs and the bed was comfortable & clean. The price for 3 x nights was reasonable and I would stay again if the price was right, be aware it’s a steep hill in to town so consider this when booking if this might be a problem. The reason I didn’t rate 5 stars was due to the bathroom. The toilet flusher was wonky and didn’t work correctly; the shower did not appear to have been deep cleaned for some time as there were marks on the wall which were easily removed by a wet finger so should’ve quite easily been cleaned by a good wipe down.

The room was functional but very basic. No frills — just a bed, desk, and bathroom. It was relatively clean on the surface, but you could tell the furnishings were worn and due for a refresh. There was no air conditioning, and although a fan was provided, the room got stuffy. The bed was okay, but the pillows were quite flat.

A well positioned hotel near to great walks and bars. Well priced and affordable.Staff are friendly and helpful.

Stayed at travloedge for the week end with mayes for night out in town whencame back to bar meet demi and dan who are absolutely amazing great service great food at 3am will definitely come back too see them both thank you both amazing staff manger should be great fun to have them thank you demi and dan
