If it is on the front, the scenery outside the window is very good. You can see the park hill designed by famous architects. The location is very convenient. Tram bus is very convenient for walking. Choosing here is also just one stop from the train station tram. I used to stay at this hotel for one night and I feel that I can book it here, but this time I feel very average. But there are very few options in Sheffield city centre. The waiters at the front desk of the hotel are very enthusiastic and some have a cold attitude. The most unhappy thing about this trip was housekeeping. The first day was not cleaned. I didn't clean it the next day. I saw that she was very polite and she helped clean it. The woman said that she went home after more than the time, she only worked for a while. When I checked out, my diarrhea was ten minutes late, and the cleaner directly made a dissatisfied voice to me. I was really angry. I didn't complain if I didn't clean my room. The front desk said she would tell her to clean but she did not. As for seeing that ibis will compensate for the breakfast offer, this is not at all. Really the first to see such a housekeeping. Ibis is also a well-known brand. Although the overall situation did not feel very bad, but 4.6 is a bit high.

The hotel was very clean , the staff very polite and professional. We stayed at the hotel because we went to see a stand up comedian in Newcastle that night and thought it would be nice not to have to drive home afterwards . We choose this hotel as the pictures looked great online and looked just as good when we got there . We would definitely stay there again if having a night out in Newcastle

I did have issues whilst I was here, namely having to move room twice. The staff were so accommodating though that I was looked after well. The rooms could do with some work but it was warm, comfortable beds, hot running water and good food in the restaurant - although you ought to book because it can get quite busy with functions. The rooms on the back can be a bit noisy with the trains but not overly so. There is a fridge and hairdryer in each room and a desk if you need to work - but you can also do this in the bar. Good food and drink is served and the jacuzzi, pool, sauna and steam room are certainly worth a go - very relaxing. Breakfast is a huge buffet - worth the money to fill up for the day. Hotel location is fantastic - right in the middle of everything.

I stayed 4 nights as part of a National Coach Holiday trip, with Bed Breakfast and Evening meal included in the package. The location of the hotel and the communal areas cannot be faulted, and all areas were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The big disappointment was being told that we could not get our evening meal until 7.30pm. We had to pre book from a 3 course menu on arrival and subsequently each evening. 7.30 pm was late for a lot of us, being of a mature age! Also service was badly planned as the waiting staff came out and went round the room asking who was having which dish. This not only took a lot of time and also some people forgot what they had pre -ordered. With 3 courses to serve we did not finish until 9pm. This is not the waiting staff's fault, but bad management practice. However on the fourth night, all was chaos. two more coach parties had been booked in and there was mayhem, and a near riot in the dining room with about 160 people trying to get seated. it was after 8pm before service started, again not the fault of the staff. A lady on our table did not get her starter at all. I think she was quite relieved as Bruschetta does not consist of a lump of soggy brown bread, a roughly chopped tomato, some thick slices of onion, and the half dead and wilted salad greens which were served with most meals. No apology from the management. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a good size and were clean, but the bathroom was shabby, chipped bath and basin and a toilet seat that was not very secure. The beverage station did not get replenished until Thursday, and the dirty mugs did not get replaced throughout our stay. The. basin tap broke on Thursday morning, which I reported, but it did not get fixed. Can't fault the staff, but working practice and management leave a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for my fellow travellers, whose friendship and brilliant sense of humour made it all worthwhile. Also thanks to National Coach Holidays and our driver.

We stayed for 6 nights and whilst not cheap was excellent value for money. The rooms are large with a massive bed and sofa. Clean ensuite with an excellent shower. Front of house staff were friendly but Steph and Megan were exceptional. As were Ferida and Jimmy in the restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of hot and cold choice. My only observation is that as the hot food is cooked then kept warm at the self-service station, items such as the fried eggs and tomatoes can dry out. However you can request fresh omelette (excellent) or poached eggs (excellent) or fresh mushrooms (excellent) or black pudding (more than excellent!!). We only ate one of our six evening meals in the restaurant as after a four hour drive, it was easier. The food was fine but the service from Josh was fabulous ... a credit to the hotel. My only criticism was when I read my bill having got home, there was an automatic 12.5% service charge for the meal. If you like Indian food I can certainly recommend Jashn restaurant which is only four minutes drive and was one of the best Indian meals I have ever had (I could also recommend Michelangelo for high quality Italian and only 8 minutes from the hotel). We had a fabulous break seeing family and friends and will certainly be back next year and would stay at the Delta again

I use a wheelchair & my daughter is my carer. So had an accessible room on the ground floor. We also had our dog with us. I have to say that all the staff across the board from top to bottom are so amazing. They are kind, caring, helpful and make time to listen if you need them. The breakfast is always fresh, hot & tasty. The room is always spotlessly clean & the bed is so comfortable. I would recommend this particular hotel to anyone. You are made to feel welcome & respected by every member of staff. Will return in the future, no question about it. A huge thank you to each & every member of the team. You are all amazing. The drive up to the castle was was fantastic as the view of the castle looked stunning. The entrance to the court yard for parking was quaint and inviting. The look of the court yard looking at all the out buildings looked inviting and very well presented. The “stocks” make for great entertainment The entrance to the reception is like looking for the secret door but the plaque at the side with history information explains why and is interesting to read. Inside the reception is is quite dark but this for me added to the ambience of the place. The staff where welcoming, polite and explained the hotel set up. We stayed in one of the room in the courtyard which was beautiful. Very nicely decorated and good value for money. The room was cozy. We’d booked to have a meal in the Knights Restaurant and we had pre drinks in the bar first The walk to the restaurant through the corridor into the central courtyard was very different yet beautiful. It’s so old and it was nice to see it was decorated and kept within “keeping” The bar again was inviting and cosy and it was great to see that the drinks and wine list was very reasonably priced. So often places know you are a target audience and inflate the prices ridiculously however in our opinion the castle had not done this. There was a good choice of cocktails and the “smoked” cocktails added that something a little bit different and we didn’t mind paying a few pounds more for the “quirkiness”. Again the staff where very professional, friendly and well presented. The walk from the bar/lounge area to the Knights Restaurant was stunning through the corridors of the castle and past a lovely looking staircase and when we walked into the restaurant I was overwhelmed as it was stunning and not what I was expecting. The arched ceiling, the lighting, the privacy of how the tables where set out we felt was very nice. We thought it all created a romantic setting. It was very secluded but included. The menu choice was good and the food was beautiful. The service was great too and again the staff were very professional, polite and very well presented. The prices on the menu varied so I would say they’d catered fo most people’s budget and it was your own choice on how much you spend Our nights sleep was comfortable and the walk back from the restaurant to the courtyard was well lit but again in keeping with been in a castle environment. Great use of mood lighting. My husband even went into the stocks on the was home (🤣) Breakfast the next morning again did not disappoint. The selection was fantastic and plenty of food to choice from Overall we can can not fault our experience. It was a lively venue with great facilities and very well presented. The staff where Courteous, polite, friendly and very well presented. I would recommend this as a place to go and stay. We must go back so we can stay in one of the castle rooms as I am sure they would be as good and maybe even more “quirkier” than the courtyard rooms which were very nice.

FFranfromivegillCannot best the location!!!! Trolley push out of the doors and into the hotel ( or vice versa). No worry about taxi or transfer. Restaurant OK but suffers from the same ailment of so many…. Blinking awful coffee!!!! Also those awful mugs …. I have said before….. I have taken to bringing my own decent mug to drink out of. I ate in the bar last time - similar menu ( same prices) but no booking of a table required. Just got to put up with TV with constant noise or sport…… They let me leave my luggage while I drop off or pick up a hire car…. About 10 minutes walk away. Always my first choice.

GGuest UserThis hotel is not a place to stay for more than two nights. They do not clean your room and provide replenished supplies. You have to ask every time you need something, tissues toilet paper milk tea coffee clean towels soap. It is an hotel with many rooms but it seems as though there are only four disabled parking places close to the front of the hotel the last couple of nights the two disabled parking spaces were filled by expensive Porsches that did not display blue badges. Seems they think they can do what they like The parking is monitored by parking eye. Be careful as you may end up with a hefty parking charge from ******* like them It gets very noisy at the weekends, ask for ear plugs and they look at you stupid. Generally they could save a fortune by turning the hot water temperature down and using thermostatic mixer taps. The aircraft noise starts between 6am and 7 am. There seems to be a lot of secrecy you have to ask for menu’s then get told where to get it Be a good idea if they had menus in the rooms.food not bad reasonable price but would have liked menu in rooms Interesting caveats you don’t get a refund if you have a covid related issue or if Ukraine causes problems but they do not have any protocol’s in place about social distancing. The lifts are a free for all and there are no notices about about who should be in the lift . I think the rated capacity is 10 or 75 kg. I would like to see limits on lift capacity and stopping un related people entering the lifts. Three times I told people I did not want to share the lift but they still piled in so I left. One way to prevent this would be to not have interrupted journeys if you get in on floor 2 and want to go to ground floor do not stop at level 1. They seem to be more concerned with their profits than customer safety or protection. You can get rooms cheaper on other websites than their own checkin Would I be going back? ?? Not 100% sure yet but 99.99% I won’t be returning

GGuest UserWe are in the IHG club and have therefore stayed at other Indigo hotels. This was our first visit to Newcastle. We got off to a bad start because when I tried to phone the hotel prior to our arrival I was put into an endless loop which didn't get anywhere. I eventually had to contact Indigo Central who had the same problem getting through. Someone from the hotel did then contact me however and apologised that there were issues with the telephone system. Not a good first impression however. The other issue we had was with the room cards which I had to have re-calibrated a total of five times in the two days we were there. We were eventually told that if we kept them in the same pocket as a mobile phone or in its vicinity this would stop the card working. This is not an issue that we recall having had elsewhere. The room was modern and comfortable, as was the bathroom. We found the mattress to be on the hard side. There were plenty of plugs, there was adequate lighting and a room safe. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided as was a fridge with bottled water. We ate in the hotel on our first night and found the food to be very good. We had been confused that within the hotel itself there were signs referring to a Marco Pierre White restaurant, but it turned out that this had closed. The restaurant is now the Grainger. There was a good choice of self-service breakfast, and also a cooked menu. So the positives outweigh the negatives, and we would probably stay here again if we came back to Newcastle.

GGuest UserI was nervous about staying here after all the reviews, but actually wasn't as bad as some of the reviews I'd read! Yes the hotel is very dated, it has the look and feel of a 70s/80s type hotel. It could do with new carpets, furniture a lick of paint, but it was clean. The bedding smelt clean and looked it, no marks etc. Bathroom was also clean and had amenities such as shampoo, shower gel. We didn't eat there so cannot comment on food (took the 2min drive along to The Badger) We had an early morning flight so checked in 630pm and checked out by 6am. It did us just fine I genuinely can't complain, I paid £55 for a room and 8 nights parking!

DDarrenStayed for four nights was a nice clean hotel in a good location thr parking was very tight and questionable but the staff had it very well organised. If I'm up that way again I would consider staying here again.
