Overall a grandeur hotel with easy access to the Royal County Down Championship Links.. so location excellent with beautiful gardens.. internal decor very traditional Irish/English style with good facilities including nice swimming pool, jacuzzi & for ladies spa. Breakfast traditional Irish/English breakfast.

A shame considering this is such a beautiful hotel and we had anticipated so much more..
We had a poor experience and there didn’t seem to be an option for us to complain during our stay on here.
Initially arrived and our room door was broken meaning we were delayed getting into to our room.. During the wait we noticed a Dog coming out of the room next door which with allergies we couldn’t accept and therefore requested a change of room which was agreed.
Upon going to our new room it was made up for a family with 2 singles a sofa bed and a dog bed with dog bowls sitting (not at all the luxury hotel room we had anticipated) This room was then again changed adding to our delay to start enjoying our trip.
Once settled into our third Room we opted to have a cup of coffee from the advertised coffee machine however this just ran off coloured water with floating bits (noted to the hotel)
Not wanting to waste anymore time we went down to the spa and relaxed in the pool etc.
We were left with a card to leave on the door for room service breakfast which we thought would be a lovely touch (additional cost affordable)
We followed the instruction and later fell asleep looking forward to breakfast in bed however our breakfast didn’t come (our card had been lost in the kitchen and therefore we had to ring down and received our breakfast over an hour late) we then had to ring again as the condiments we selected were also missing.
This has been an experienced full of delays and disappointment and even when given extra time to have our breakfast and get ready we were constantly interrupted by house keeping as reception had failed to communicate we were being given extra time.
Not sure if we would return to this hotel which is a shame as I’m sure had everything been organised better we would have enjoyed the amenities.

Lovely stay but our room was too warm which made sleeping difficult as the aircon wasn't working. There was a fan in the room which we used all night but the window could only be opened a couple of centimetres which didn't permit the air to circulate. Staff at reception apologised and said they would look into it. Food was good in Percy French restaurant and breakfast was excellent. Spa and pool great.

We were not aware that 70% of hotel was closed for renovations.
We were disturbed by builders drills at 8.00am
Breakfast was in temporary restaurant and was cold on both mornings
No atmosphere felt like camping in a building site

First stay after the mask, it has been renovated and the facilities have been improved a lot. The environment is still very good. The taste of the restaurant has slightly declined, but there are many restaurants nearby that can meet the needs of different tastes. The overall experience is great!
