Stayed in one of the 4 garden cabins. Each are angled in such a way that they are all private. Each has its own hot tub and log burner. The cabin was cosy at night and well maintained. The cabin has WiFi, a tv, tea/coffee station, sofa and ensuite. Towels are provided for the bathroom plus separate towels, a robe and slippers for the hot tub. Breakfast was buffet but included hot self-service english breakfast items. I have to give credit to the person on reception when I checked in who greeted me with a smile and was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back.

On the whole, the accommodation was satisfactory and the breakfast was very good. However, the room was not perfect as a 3-bed room was assigned to us (2 persons).  The extra bed occupied space but cannot be effectively used by us. A better window view was sacrified.

I can honestly say I’ve never felt so looked after than when I stayed here last weekend! I checked in the day before and left my luggage as I was taking part in an ultra marathon. When arriving on the Saturday a little worse for wear I was absolutely exhausted and delighted to see the same lady on reception. What made it so special was the complimentary upgrade to a cabin with a hot tub right outside. The whole experience brought me to tears and that’s something that never happens! The cabin was gorgeous, the hot tub was lovely and clean just like everywhere at the hotel. Breakfast was 10/10 too, (the bus stops right outside the hotel a perfect for getting around £3) I can’t recommend this place enough and I am looking forward to returning again with the family. Honestly a real heart felt thank you for everything!

This is a slightly outdated but lovely hotel. Good pub/guest house and feel about it. We had room one and it’s a good spacious room. Staff friendly and helpful. Need to up the attention to detail with clearing glasses and tables more efficiently. This applied to both the lounge area outside and the bar. The grounds are lovely and well kept. We enjoyed this stay for the weekend just think needs more attention to the daily running. Breakfast was nice but again disorganised at clearing up and refilling. Simple things like glasses ran out for juices, fruit ran out very quick and staff seemed unprepared for the hotel being quite busy.

The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was a little small as there was a double and a single bed in quite a small space . The en-suite was tiny, with the shower over the bath, not easy to get out of if you have little legs the toilet seat was broken, which we tried to fix, but broke again the following day. We had dinner in the restaurant, basic choice, but the food was lovely. Breakfast in the morning is self service, which we were disappointed with as we prefer freshly cooked food. It was good quality, but only luke warm.

Very private, clean and modern The hot tub was wonderful and so was the log burner We had everything we needed and enjoyed every minute The staff were great as was the food for our evening meals. I couldn’t fault it at all

Recently back from a 4night stay in a cabin with hot tub. Great location although on a busy road. Cabin tucked away at rear of property was lovely, very private and peaceful. Hotel grounds are lovely and very well kept. Cabin was a great layout with patio seating and hot tub. Plenty of space for 2 or a small family. Hotel itself was quite dated and a bit of a time warp but in good condition and very clean staff very friendly and welcoming especially those in the bar. Breakfast let's this hotel down though. It's basic and functional but nothing exciting. It's like they've made minimum effort with it. The hot food is cooked well and is good quality and tasty but if you don't want hot food your gonna be disappointed. The croissant were nearly always solid and only plain yoghurt cereal and fruit salad for a continental breakfast offer. The breakfast didn't encourage us to try dinner in the hotel. Hotel welcomes dogs which is great. Another negative was the noise from the overnight road resurfacing at the front of the hotel. We were lucky being at the back of the hotel but on a front facing room would have had no sleep at all. Apparently it's been ongoing for a few weeks. There's a lovely 2km walk to lakeside along the lake and you can hire kayaks and paddleboard just over the bridge. Fell foot park is close by and also lovely. Overall a good location and comfortable hotel but don't get excited about breakfast.

We stayed on a very sunny Saturday for 1 night. We had a lake view room which was beautiful. Our room had some great features and was very clean. The grounds were very well manicured. Evening meal was fantastic. Breakfast was okay, could do with some more healthy choices. Overall very happy with the stay.
