We returned for our third visit but unfortunately the attention to detail and service this time was lacking. I booked time away for my husband's birthday. On arrival check in was smooth and easy and we could get straight up to our room. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable. The hairdryer however,blew cold air and a lack of a full size mirror in the bedroom was disappointing (there was a mirror attached to a door but no plug socket close by to do hair). For the price I believe fresh milk and a fridge should be provided in the room, not UHT milk. A bottle of still and sparkling water is also not sufficient. Little tweaks such as providing a pillow menu, fresh milk and water (which other hotels do supply) is a relatively easy fix. We booked dinner bed and breakfast for our stay. Unfortunately, my husband's deconstructed beef wellington was little to be desired. He requested medium rare but the fillet was very tough and over cooked. The lamb which I ordered was delicious. When we went to pay our bill, the reception desk asked how our meal was and did knock some drinks off to compensate, however, given their ratings for the food it was rather disappointing that the meal was not up to standard. Breakfast was tasty but I asked for additional toast which came 20 minutes after I requested it and by that time breakfast had been eaten. Flora spread was provided rather than butter which was available on other tables. A few areas that require improvement this time.
