Best Hotels near Punderson State Park, Newbury Township

We stayed in this hotel in March 2022 and it wasn't bad at all. We had no shower gel, and no maid service but they said that was because of Covid. Okay. We just stayed there again this past weekend, for 4 nights, and the place has gone downhill a lot in 6 months. No one mentioned there was no maid service now unless you're staying a week or more. You must get your towels from the front desk. Add to that, they were still out of shower gel and we had to once again get in in a cup from the front desk. The young blond woman working the desk in the day is helpful, at least she responds and smiles when you look her way or need help. But the women at night were engrossed in their phones, never even looking up. It looks sloppy and very unprofessional. The male housekeeper in my hallway (third floor) had his hip-hop music so loud, I could still hear it once I got in my room. Our room was also across from the electrical/mechanical room so the men would talk loudly outside our door. (Note the room number 350-AVOID). Trash sat outside rooms because, once again, there was no maid service for under a week, and most of it was there my entire 4-night stay. I also made note of a plastic fork in my hallway EVERY day I was there, even AFTER housekeeping had cleaned some of the rooms for guests who had checked out. There was also trash in the elevator daily. The carpeting in the halls was dirty, too. Our room was somewhat clean, but I could write my name in the dust on the TV stand, and the kitchen needed a major cleaning, as well as the refrigerator. We needed ice but there was no ice machine, so you had to make ice in your freezer. The pillows smelled of oily hair, which was a huge turn-off. And our room description said we had a ”recliner” but we had a sofa with a lounge side. Big difference. Of course the frosting on the cake was the fire alarm going off on Sunday morning because someone down our hall didn't know how long to pop popcorn. SMH This hotel is drastically, and I mean DRASTICALLY overpriced at $133-151 a night. I would say $59 TOPS would be the max, once I got a peek at the place. Anyway, I would strongly urge you to avoid this place and seek one of the hotels in Beachwood off Chagrin Blvd. That's where we'll be on our next visit.

The city center is too crowded, it is convenient to go anywhere here, go to the center of Cleveland and the Chinese supermarket Chinese restaurant gathering area for about 15 minutes, covered by a quilt is not a blanket.

We had a 2-night stay booked. It was comfortable and very clean. The staff at the front desk was helpful and responsive to our request for some toiletries that were needed. The full breakfast that is served was delicious and Candy, the breakfast attendance staff was attentive and made us all feel very much at home. A great value for the price.

The environment is very good, cost-effective, food is free, there are Chinese restaurants and KFC opposite

Although there are some tech issues with this place (resetting the room Chromecast would not get it to work and neither would the phone pairing/dishwasher is crazy loud/shower pressure adequate) the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere compensated sufficiently for this stay. Holly and the other staff make you feel like you're visiting with family (but not too close family) - like cousins - in a good way. So I felt welcome and the room and bed was comfortable, piling three of their marshmallow pillows enable me to get sufficient head support and the pool and gym are good enough for a short stay. Kitchen set-up is just enough to do the basics but has everything you need, the large fridge is great. The area set aside for dogs was well established and attended to, all the walks were regularly cleared of snow. As buffet breakfasts go I thought it was better than average at this point, with a small but well chosen selection that can cover all tastes and was not the usual dried out recycled buffet fare.

Pros. Hotel has a good location. Rooms are good. Nice lobby. Lots of parking Cons. Openly censor Fox on the TV. No extra service what so ever. We never saw a maid or room attendant once in a 4 night stay. The room was nice, the outdoor mall has nice stores. Lobby is large. Parking is somewhat offsite, but quite easy and convenient

I had never stay in a Drury Inn, until a week ago. My family was always Marriott Club members. However; I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the rooms, staff, and property amenities. I will say, the staff is second to none, so willing and ready to help at any given time. I can honestly say, from housekeeping to the hotel manager, super helpful and very courteous. It's been a very long time since I have had this kind of experience at any hotel. I will never forget how you made my family and I feel from the minute we checked in, we felt very welcome. When I checked in, I told the young man I wanted to have a good experience and he said,”Yes Mam.” I had an awesome time. Thank you Drury Inn.
