Travelodge Newbury Tot Hill

Big comfy room. Slept well. Everything I needed. Food coffee and petrol station nearby. I just want to thank Diane who checked me in. she helped me due to a WiFi issue. Diane is professional, polite and considerate. Helped me work out the problem. Thank you

it would appear that the Travelodge has had a little freshen up since the previous negative reviews.. perfect for a sleep over/rest stop.. didn't have any phone reception and there is a charge of £3 for WiFi (logged onto the Star Bucks next door)

Very happy with stay. Modern rooms with good facilities. Comfortable bed. Good control of temperature. Lots of litter out side which needs a clean up.

Travelodge pillows are hard and uncomfortable. Those at Tot Hill were no exception.althogh the room and the hotel generally has had a recent refurb and makes er, the pillows are still disgraceful. Hard lumps of polyester foam with no give.One is not enough, two is too many and either way they guarantee a bad night's sleep. The other complaint is about the exterior at TotHill. The car park and area all around the hotel is strewn with vast quantities of litter from the adjacent fast food outlets which share the location. A rat paradise! Could see it from our window. Urgently needs a comprehensive litter pick and more rubbish bins outside . These then need regular emptying. The existing ones were full and overflowing. Disgusting. Travelodge management needs to get a grip on this before they find the council health people moving in and closing the place down.

Got an amazing deal. 4 nights for £101.00. I stay regularly, but never 4 nights, maybe that why 8s was cheaper? Since my last visit, the hotel has been refurbished. New carpets are the main new add. Rooms , I was in room 211 , looked fresher. I was visiting family in the Newbury area, so I only used the room as a base. The bed was excellent, with two extra pillows available. TV was only freeview, but I only used it once. Had my tablet with me, eo watched Sky on that instead. WiFi is £3.00 for 24 hours or £12.00 per week, I was more than happy to pay the £12.00 . But to be honest, you can pick up free WiFi from Starbucks or the Shell garage. I never bother as it tends to crash late at night. Big secure car park adjacent, frre parking. You have a Starbucks and a McDonald's on your doorstep, and a short walk to a Shell Garage with a small Waitrose attached. The rooms are only serviced on request, I never bothered. You have a small kettle and hot drink ingredients. I bought plenty of my own tea bags, coffee sachets, and milk. But you can request more. Nice clean bedding and towels. The bathroom is okay. The bath is very narrow and shallow , so it was a battle to have a bath. Never used the shower. Brought my own soap, shampoo, etc. But there is a dispenser with hand soap. The towel rail was not heated, but the room was lovely and warm . You can boost or reduce the heating at your will. The hot water in the sink and bath was painfully slow. A drbble at the best, but did the job. All staff I encountered were very friendly. Check in and check out very easy. Will return at the end of March.

Stayed in this hotel for a few days whilst away with work, brilliant little location and really easy to access. Staff inside were nice and attentive. I had trouble getting the wifi to work but Diane sorted it out for me. I'd recommend to anyone in the area for ease.
