Lots of charm and character with a very friendly staff and interesting locals who come and enjoy the pub drinks and food. Also conveniently located for attractions west of London. Enjoyed staying here for 6 days.

Stayed here for 2 nights as we had a Wedding in Hungerford. When we arrived we had to wait for the barman to finish serving to check us in. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Little touches let it down though, such as the aerial lead sticking right out in from of the furniture and the shower taking ages to heat up and not really being very hot. The breakfast was quite good, The buffet table was quite small with no breads or pastries. There was ample parking on site, all the staff were friendly and the bar served some good beer. I would stay again if in he area and hopefully the little things will be sorted out.

I stayed here with friends to visit Highclere Castle, which turned out to be fully booked. The rooms themselves look newly decorated, and I could fine no fault - clean and comfortable. The rest of the pub looks like it could do with a bit of TLC. Not bad, just a little tired. The bar doesn't have much of an atmosphere, but it's comfy. The food is good (we had dinner one night and breakfast both mornings).

I visited for lunch . Unfortunately the quality of food was not good. Battered COD? and chips at £15.50 would be ok if the fish actually resembled cod. The flesh was grey and tasteless and the batter was overcooked on the outside and soggy inside. Very disappointing .

My husband chose this pub/B&B for the large car park! We were attending an event nearby, and this was reasonably priced as well. The room was clean, comfortable, and had air conditioning! We didn't have the breakfast, purely because it wasn't served early enough for what we needed, so they took some money off for us instead. But the main thing I'd recommend this pub for is the evening meals. The mains weren't over priced, and were decent sized portios. Proper "pub grub" Highly recommend 👌

Food poor quality, microwaved lasagne cold in the middle and watery. Gammon so salty almost inedible. Poor service. Used to be a lovely place to eat, and the pub is so pretty with a lovely area to eat outside , menu quite limited too. Sadly We won’t return.

Once again they did not disappoint, my third and my wife’s fourth visit, Clean comfortable beds lovely powerful shower. Lunch in the garden was great in such a lovely setting But the thing that made this visit more special was the service, the staff gave the impression that they actually enjoyed their role what ever it was, something that you don’t seem to see very much nowadays. Will return next year.

On arrival we were greeted by a very sarcastic and rude member of staff who throughout the meal thought it was funny to make sarcastic comments. No warm welcome and at no point did he say welcome etc. Bice good ruined by someone thinking it’s funny to make jokes and make you feel uncomfortable. Won’t be returning.

Room 8 cosy double, marked it down due to lack of storage, no drawers only small open wardrobe, ok for overnight stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Meals portions I felt were large, the food was very good.
