I contacted Karen at 'The Old Baker's Cottage' to enquire about an afternoon tea at fairly short notice as an early family hen do for my daughter as her aunt was visiting from France and her Nan has not been well. Karen was so accommodating even accepting a couple of requests for specific sandwich choices . We all had a wonderful couple of hours enjoying great food and service and lots of laughs. Thank you Karen for helping us make such happy memories. Your prices really are exceptional value and would be at a few pounds more. Also we would have been very happy to pay a deposit and may be something to consider. Please keep up the good work. Annette Brown

Karen and Dave are very accommodating and you feel very comfortable in their tea room , the bed and breakfast facilities are excellent and the service is great, they have nice touches of lovely tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom along with bottle water in glass bottles

A business trip to Newborough allowed me to make my first visit to the Vintage Tea Rooms, and I was very impressed with the experience. The venue was very spacious, and the service was first class, being both friendly and enthusiastic. The cakes on offer looked delicious, and the two that we ate were exceptionally tasty. Car parking is available immediately opposite the premises. Highly recommended.

This is a review for the wonderful welcome we received when my Husband and I called in at the Old Bakers Cottage Vintage Tea Rooms. What a breath of fresh air to find this gem on our way to Bakewell to stay for a couple of days. It was like going back in time when people genuinely had time to serve and chat in such peaceful surroundings. Not to mention the DELICIOUS CAKES. We were so impressed that we had to call in again on our way home after our break. We will definitely be back again. David and Janice Reding

This lovely coffee and cake shop, which also serves light meals, is a real treasure. The staff are incredibly friendly and the prices are competitive to say the least. Plenty of seats are available inside and out and you are always made to feel very welcome. I can't recommend the cakes too highly, they are delicious. Easily the best place of its kind in the area.

Popped in here for a quick cuppa and cake whilst visiting Newborough to see the Well Dressings on Thursday afternoon. The Tea Room is run by two lovely, (and dare I say, attractive), ladies dressed in vintage 40's/50's dress, (matched by the decor of the Tea Room), who were extremely welcoming and friendly. We sat at a small table in the front room and ordered Tea for two and a cake, (a cherry almond cake), which was delicious. The choice of cakes was amazing, I could have quite easily put on several pounds if I had stayed for a prolonged visit. Prices are very reasonable for a venue like this out in the sticks. Newborough is situated between Sudbury in a beautiful part of East Staffordshire. Just the place I'd like to retire to, but alas - that dream is beyond my purse. Will I return? Absolutely when I'm in the area, (it's a bit of a run for me for a specific visit). Many thanks to Karen and Jenny, (I hope I got your names correct), for a superb visit.
