Our room (number 2) was very good, the breakfast was very good, and the local advice was very good but best of all was their welcoming and relaxed hospitality. It's just a short walk into central Newark. Worth coming to Newark just to stay here!

This beautiful Grade II listed building has been fully, and tastefully renovated by its two lovely owners. The bedroom was splendid, and the bathroom was both spacious and elaborate. There is free private parking and it's a short walk to Newark centre. The breakfast was very impressive in terms of quality and choice. If you are visiting this town, you should stay at this first-class establishment.

The service was excellent from beginning to end, John and Pablo were so welcoming and friendly, it really felt like you were guests rather than just clients. The room we stayed in (3) was very big but still very comfortable (although a king size bed could have easily fit so that was a bit of a shame) and cosy with a lovely free standing bath. Breakfast was excellent and location was good too with parking and only a few minutes walk into town. It was also good value for money I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking to stay anywhere in Newark.

Our first visit and certainly won't be the last. What a lovely host Pablo is,he made is very welcome. The room was beautiful, tasteful, and the biggest bathroom we have seen! Everything, clean, tidy Lovely breakfast Only a 10 minute walk into Newark so an ideal was. We will certainly be back and thoroughly recommend.

What an absolute joy it was to stay here, the whole place was amazing, the room I was in hence the name was fit for a king, the family that own it and run it where so nice and welcoming. The garden was amazing to sit in especially first thing in the morning with the sunrise it was a great start to the day. The breakfast was perfect, basically you couldn't ask for more and you would definitely get this personal touch and service at a hotel. The prices were literally a couple of pounds more than a hotel but you got a service you wouldn't get at a hotel so it's definitely worth it and I'll definitely be returning. Thank you for a great visit.

The Lions is 5 star for us. We felt so well looked after during our 2 night stay. Pablo and John pay attention to the details that matter, so welcoming, beautiful decor, fantastic breakfast, lovely garden area: a truly wonderful place to stay.

Wowsa! Beautiful house and garden. Very nice area as well.Not too far to walk into the town if you needed to. Lovely room, fantastic hosts, great breakfast! Even gave us a glass of wine at night! Hosts were super attentive! What more would you need!

Wow, what an amazing stay. The hosts John and Pablo were so welcoming. They even invited us to join them and their friends for drinks & dessert as they finished their meal. The b&b is outstanding and no attention to detail is left. Our room was out of this world, with the en-suite being bigger than the actual room! Pablo cooked us a delicious breakfast the following morning, catering for our every whim. I can't recommend The Lions enough. What a wonderful visit 💖
