DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark

Good hotel with friendly welcoming staff It was a good stay. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I found the people working at the hotel to be friendly and welcoming. I swam in the pool and worked out in the gym several times. Both are well maintained. The food in the hotel restaurant was also good. The only disappointment was that housekeeping came to my room one time during my 5 day stay. I did not hang a sign on my door saying I didn’t want service or not to be disturbed.

Dirty. For the price? In proximity to…. Nothing? Nope I wanted to leave but my husband wouldn’t let me for no other reason than the guy at check in was the nicest person however he couldn’t have changed the issues with this establishment. I survived the night but would never and I mean never stay here again

Had to get multiple new rooms due to AC not working. Went to restaurant and waited 2 hours.

The front desk staff was fantastic—friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the good experience ended. The room was a mess. The shower was visibly dirty with someone else’s hair still in it, the carpet clearly hadn’t seen a vacuum in a while, and there was actual food—candy and nuts—under the bed, easily visible right near the edge. Surfaces were grimy, and the thick layer of dust wasn’t new. This wasn’t just missed—it had been neglected for a long time. The front desk deserves five stars. The room? Not even close.

We stay here ever year before Memorial day weekend . We like the proximity of restaurants to walk to and the staff is always friendly. One thing i think could change would be the breakfast buffet. It is very small with not many food choices.

Overall an ok hotel. They were not able to accommodate the adjoining rooms as requested. Ice machine weren’t working on several floors possibly due to soccer tournament.
