The best hostel in NYC (ps: ensure no food in room!!!!! , otherwise tom & gerry will not make u be peaceful haha, besides fantastic, esp the employees are the best 🤍)

Stayed in Insignia as renovations were being done in my apartment near by. Its a small hotel with 5 floors and 87 rooms, king rooms face the front and queen face the back. My room was on the 5th floor facing the back and looking down on the limited space parking lot. You must request a refrigerator as they are based on availability. There isn't much space around the Queen bed so it makes it tight. There is no iron or ironing board if you do need one in the room. The customer service definitely is different with who is at the front desk. I only have dealt with an Asian man who is very helpful, kind and greets you everytime. My husband dealt with a women who was rude. Parking as mentioned is in a limited space parking lot and is $29 a night. It does have in and our privileges but you can definitely find a spot on the block. I would recommend this hotel for a very short stay like a night or two just because the type of guest here can give it a bad name. Smoking is not permitted, however you smell **** throughout the floors. Only plus is that it is a updated hotel which was built in 2018 so you have the LCD TV on the wall mount and a nicely built bathroom with Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash in the shower already with a pump to be used.

Honestly this place is ghetto. We were so excited when we walked into the lobby because it's so luxurious but the rooms? do not match the vibes the front gives you. I would only go back here if I had no other option.

Great facility, great service - we got in early even, and good location and great cost

In Chinatown, Flushing, Queens, New York, not far from the starting point of Subway Line 7, which goes to Grand Central Station and Times Square. The hotel has a good breakfast. The front desk and service staff are all Chinese. The rooms are large and well-equipped. There is a dedicated Shuttle charges at JFK Airport. When I left the store, I sincerely told the front desk that it would definitely be a good review. So I must give it a good review. I stayed here for 4 nights and the service was attentive and meticulous.

Everything is fine. The location is convenient, 20 minutes by subway to Manhattan, an hour from the airport by public transport. The internet was bad. Not very clean rooms.

Blink and you'll miss it, but the Jazz Columbus Circle is right there near 56th and 8th, between the LenWich and Wendy's. There's no branding or signage on the door or even the front desk but, trust me, it's there and you're at the right place. Pack a towel. New health measures mean they don't provide those anymore. They make coffee in the mornings, but the equipment isn't maintained well, and there's always a supply of bagels, but there's no way to know how long those have been there. If you bring home a doggy bag from your dinner out, you can store it in the communal fridge but there's no way to heat your leftovers back up as the microwave is out of order. Need a glass of water in the middle of the night? The fridge dispenses filtered water. You'll just be waiting a while, though, as it dispenses it at an extremely slow trickle. An extremely slow trickle was also how the sink worked in my dorm's bathroom. More water leaked onto the floor than flowed into the sink for the simple task of washing my hands. At least there were no issues with the shower. As for the toilet, the handle was loose and needed to be pulled carefully and securely each time. In the bedroom, you're provided a place for your head, a couple hooks for your things and a small locker. Bring a lock, unless you didn't pack any valuables and believe wholeheartedly in the honor system. It's winter and the AC is still in the window, but the draft won't affect you as the heat works exceptionally well. What doesn't work well is the hostel's WiFi. The city's is faster and easier to connect to. At the end of the day, it's an inexpensive stay at a youth hostel a couple blocks from Columbus Circle proper. You get what you pay for.

The room is clean and provides soap, lotion and shampoo, coffee machine: The bed is very comfortable but has no slippers. My flight arrived about midnight and shuttle service was not Available at that time. Check in was quick and would have appreciated if water was provided. Was a bit disappointed with breakfast but do understand that most guest prefer breakfast to go. Breakfast in the bag was composed of bagel, muffin, cookie, banana, butter, jam and a box of juice. Would have preferred a hot breakfast. The location is near the airport (5 min away by taxi) and the department of sanitation is just in the next block so you see a lot of garbage trucks within the vicinity. In any hotel that I go to, I would want to see a smile from the hotel reception but did not see one during check-in or check-out. Would be nice if guests are greeted by a smile though. Receptionists and I never got one, chocking

Stayed multiple times. Chinese breakfast is a feature. The room is also very big. It would be better if drinking water can be provided. You don’t have to buy it at your own expense. It’s still as convenient as ever to eat. Haidilao, Little Sheep and Xiaolongkan are all within walking distance
