The Ritz-Carlton NoMad. Me and my spouse are celebrating here at this hotel for our 10th year anniversary. We were very excited about it. However, when we first got here, no one was there at the door getting the doors for us, with two bags and two luggages, it was very hectic for us to just even get in. When we get to the check in counter, it was pretty chaos at the check in counter, no one was there greeting us, there are four check in desks, the only person was not doing anything at the moment was the concierge person Joy. She ignored us for quite some time then finally came asking us if we were checking in, however, she let the person behind us to check in first which was very unprofessional, when she came to the people behind us she immediately offers them champagne and water, I guess she had no choice since we heard it so she finally came to us to see if we would like any. I was not mad or anything, just not very impressed about her customer service. We had a real nice lady checking in for us, we were not familiar with the system of Ritz Carlton, but she explains as much as possible to us which was very helpful. She even recommended us about the rooftop restaurant. So we immediately made the reservation, but we had to do it with Joy ( she's the one making reservations and greeting people I guess). So she was asking us where we were from, we told Joy we live in Soho and just chatted for a little bit, we even complimented about her Catier watch, and no one escort us to the elevator after checked in. After we got to our room, the view was amazing. We loved the view, the room was clean except a little trash under the sofa ( you can see it easily with bending down) which is not a big deal Then we start unpacking, got a text massage from my friend saying he couldn't make it, so we called right away to cancel the reservation. I thought it should be real simple and easy, after 5 minutes my hotel phone was ringing, it was Joy, she didn't introduce herself but I regonize her voice, she was saying oh are you guys the one from CHINA TOWN ? I said no we were from SOHO. There are three restaurants here so we cancel the wrong one she said. I don't know how can a 5 star hotel staff talks like that, we are Asians, that does not mean that we were from China town. NOT ALL THE ASIANS LIVE IN CHINA TOWN OK ? I felt real uncomfortable so I called back to the concierge. Hello? she answered the phone. Not even kidding, that's all she said when she picked up the phone. I told her she's given me a real bad vibe, and confronted her about her attitude, she did not apologize at all and she says thank you three times then hung up the phone. I complained about it to the manager Nelson, I didn't ask for anything but he still sent me a "20" dollars champagne to my room and the chocolate with strawberry which is very sweet but I think it was a little bit too late. My point is if you are Asian and live in China town, I would not recommend you to stay at this h
