very clean hotel and in a great location, from which you can reach the main attractions of the city in a few minutes. the only flaw, the constant noise at night that you hear being on the fifth. a note of merit to the staff, in particular to Tie (I hope that's how you spell friend) and to the other gentleman who was working the night shift (unfortunately I didn't ask his name) for their extreme kindness and care towards us. You made our week in New York even more beautiful, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Great location to stay in New York!! Felt really safe and was close to everything (Times Square round the corner, could walk down fifth avenue to Central Park and not far walk from soho). The staff were lovely and the hotel was clean. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone!

I spent the week before Christmas enjoying the sights and sounds of Manhattan. We chose the U Hotel Fifth Avenue due to the excellent pricing and we were pleasantly surprised by how clean the room and bathroom were. The location is excellent with several convenient subways close by and within walking distance to Broadway. I was concerned about the room size based on other reviews however, we both had a carry-on and a backpack and the space in the room was fine. I would highly recommend the U Hotel if you are looking for a no frills super clean hotel room,

This is a great place in midtown Manhattan, just minutes from The Empire State Building. It had everything we needed: a comfortable bed, a bathroom and air conditioning. The room was small but comfortable, with plenty of space for a couple of big suitcases, and a couple of carry-on bags. It was serviced every day, and they provided complimentary bottled water every day. There's no bar and no breakfast, but it's right next to Starbucks, which opens at 5:30am. We walked to Central Park in about 30 minutes, walked to Times Square in about 10 minutes. The reception staff were brilliant, including booking us a fab limo transfer back to the airport at the same fixed rate as any yellow cab. This isn't a business class hotel, but we would definitely stay here again as independent travellers.

The rooms in the hotel are small with few amenities, but it was super clean and had a very nice marble bathroom. The staff was beyond helpful and accomodating. Although I have stayed in much fancier hotels, I never felt as welcome as I did here.

Great location. Clean. Comfortable bed. HOT WATER. Rooms are small but comfortable. The desk personnel, in specific, Carlos was so nice, funny, very welcoming and polite. My best friend and I stayed for 2 nights. It was extremely hot out and the housekeeping employees were giving us water bottles every day. Everyone was so nice and it made our vacations better. I would definitely stay again.

Hotel worked just fine for me. Room was small, but had a very comfortable bed, good AC, dark and quiet. Small bathroom has everything. Maid service was good. If you just need a place for a good night's sleep and don't care about a bar/restaurant, gym etc. this is the place.
