"The family room for 4 people is quite big. There is a big bed and two single beds. The service attitude is good and the air conditioning is very cool. It is close to the beach and there are many places to eat nearby. Overall it is good."

"The hotel is very good. It is very suitable for vacation. What surprised us is that there is not only a swimming pool and spa, but also free bicycles for adults and children. You can ride to the fishbone bridge to see the snow-capped mountains. The whole way is along the seaside cycling path, which is very pleasant. The front desk service is also very good, the room is comfortable, it would be nice to stay for two more days if you have time"

"Ariki Backpacker is in a great location, close to the museum, the coastal walkway, and a large market within walking distance. The staff were very friendly, and it was nice to be able to do laundry at a low price and rent a bike at a very good price. It was a guesthouse with great facilities overall, such as a small movie theater-like room, a restaurant, and a bathroom. The cleanliness was also good.. I will definitely use it again next time. I highly recommend this accommodation.."

"Excellent stay , yet again. Just a little dated, carpet and some of the facilities require a facelift. Facilities are good, except I would like to see the gym given some investment."

"Signage made property easy to find. Property immaculately presented inside and out. Checkin very easy, well dressed host pleasure to deal with. Room was spotless and provided everything travellers would require. VERY tiny,teeny weeny thing- no instructions on how to use the TV! If you dont have Sky at home, and given 2 remotes , very confusing. I strongly believe that host would have solved this issue if I had asked and if I hadnt been so tired, I would have asked him. But this in NO way would stop me returning or recommending this motel to fellow travellers. 5 out of 5 rating."

"When we arrived, it was close to 10 o'clock in the evening, so I was really afraid that there would be problems in the stay - but in fact there is a British lady waiting for us! When we arrived, we received us very kindly, and we warmly told us where we can eat at night. The next morning we saw the proprietress, the Chinese lady, and the kindness is not to be said. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, and the equipment is very complete! If you come later, I will still choose to stay here!"

"Very comfortable unit. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal. Close to restaurants, supermarkets and fast food outlets. Although on a busy road the unit was very quiet and private. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay."

"Good price for 5 nights. As I mentioned at reception the room service staff replaced towels that were hung up and which I was happy to use again (contrary to what it said on the card in the bathroom and is now standard practice in most hotels). That was an extra 4 towels to the laundry over 5 days for one room - this all adds up - I am just thinking of the planet and also the autolodge laundry bills!"

"The hotel is good and convenient. The following coffee restaurant is convenient for breakfast. The price is right. The taste is not bad. Everything is suitable. It is also good to go out shopping."

"Carpark spaces also limited, but manage to get parking slot most of the time. Very near to the coast and on higher floors, definitely can see the sea view also. It’s nearby to many dining options from cafe to restaurants and also a mini supermarket. All of these shops and restaurants within walking distance."
