Roami at St. Helene

Our stay at Roami St. Helene was truly saved by Marcus! His exceptional service and willingness to go above and beyond prevented our visit from being a complete disaster. Marcus deserves every accolade for his hard work and positive attitude—thank you, Marcus! Unfortunately, there were significant issues with the rental itself. One major disappointment was the misrepresentation of amenities, particularly the absence of a kitchen. The website listed a kitchen as part of the rental, which was a key factor in our booking. We were later told this was an "honest mistake," and while we were offered a partial refund of only 10% of the fee, the resolution felt unsatisfactory. For future guests, I recommend double-checking all listed amenities and confirming details directly with the management before making a non-refundable payment. Additionally, as locals over 70 years of age, we faced challenges before booking, as the company initially hesitated to rent to us. After assuring them of our circumstances, we were placed in a second-story unit with no elevator access—a significant inconvenience. Marcus kindly helped with luggage and other items, which we greatly appreciated, but the lack of an elevator was an unexpected and unwelcome surprise. The condition of the rental left much to be desired. The floors were sticky, showers showed signs of mold, and overall cleanliness fell short of expectations. The TV had no user instructions, which posed a challenge for those unfamiliar with its operation. The coffee maker provided did not work initially and displayed a "CLEAN" message, suggesting it hadn't been properly maintained. While some coffee supplies were provided, essentials like stirring utensils were missing. Did I mention ice chest? Of course, there is no ice maker and no ice on the premises. And the hotel style refrigerator didn’t have a freezer. Remember Mardi Gras? Drinks? The absence of a kitchen meant we had to dine out during Mardi Gras, which added over $500 in dining expenses to our trip. While we were happy to enjoy local cuisine, the limited availability during Mardi Gras created another challenge to what was to be a fun vacation. Also, we could have gotten hotel rooms for a cheaper price but paid more money for a KITCHEN which was nonexistent. To prospective guests: If you're considering staying here, be sure to ask detailed questions about amenities, accessibility, and cleanliness beforehand. While the location has potential, these oversights detracted significantly from our experience. Once again, a special thanks to Marcus for his outstanding service—he truly made a challenging situation much more manageable!

The location was EVERYTHING! Right in the center of the French Quarter. Our room had a door that led out to the pool which was so amazing. The building itself could use a good remodel but it still wasn’t bad. It had a lot of character. The photos on the wall were a bit creepy as well (I’d just take them down and put them back up before leaving). It was surprisingly quiet for being right in the center of things. You’ll see some history and ghost tours talk about the place so stop and listen if they’re out there; it was interesting. Check in is remote, but make sure you get the information a couple hours before checkin time. If not you’ll have to wait for an agent on the phone like we did. The call didn’t take super long and they were able to get me my information quickly, but it was still a delay in our day. There is housekeeping on site though. They also don’t hold luggage so use Bounce Luggage Services with sites all across NOLA. Rokus and Firesticks are in each room but our Roku didn’t work. It didn’t matter because we weren’t really watching TV. Overall, I would recommend this place because for the location, the price was amazing. Just know you’re not checking in to some five star hotel.

Cannot get their computer reservation system to work, what a joke like supermarkets with no cashiers, terrible customer service, don't waste your time with the process. No help from online person or from some phone rep that could barely speak english. Run from Sonder hotels.

Booked on Airbnb. Very good for the price. Two blocks off Bourbon. Not luxury but clean. Historic building but small with thin walls for light sleepers. Our room was spotlessly clean. Great wifi and mobile check-in/out.

The room was very clean and the view was fantastic. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The street noise is mainly ambient except for a brutal high pitch and clanging around 4am-6am when the street cleaning and garbage trucks come through. For us we felt knowing what the sounds were helped us adjust pretty easily. My only wishlist for the space would be a mini-fridge. We would have spent less money on cold water if one was in the room.

Perfect location, in the heart of the French Quarter. We had a room with a balkony to the street. The service was promptly delivering extra coffee and the correspondence with Sonder was prompt and easy. The only downside was that there were, also upon request, no drinking glasses available so that we had to drink our beer and wine from paper coffee cups.
