The hotel is a franchise, the rooms are small, the blankets on the beds have probably not been changed in years. There is a ******* next to it, with two dogs, who bark when someone comes, and look like an underground *******. The hotel is a guesthouse, and it is almost the worst place I have ever stayed.

Great value and good location for getting about the Newcastle region without the mega plex maze of huge hotel/motels. Rooms above a pub, sports bar and bistro and the rooms are quiet and secure. Bistro has daily chef specials and regular fare

Exceptional reception staff, Karen was very helpful and is an asset for the hotel. Restaurant was great value, with large meals. Would stay here again. Free transport to McDonald Stadium was an added benefit.

Karen and her team at The Blackbutt Inn are brilliant! They know you by name and always make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean & quiet, beds comfortable and the food delicious (especially the steak!). I often travel by myself and I feel extremely safe at The Blackbutt Inn. Thank you Karen!

A very nice hotel well located if you are going to JHH. Excellent staff, friendly, kind, knowledgeable. The rooms were fresh, clean and quiet. Great sleep. Very good restaurant in attached pub, very good food, great staff and good prices. Highly recommended.

We have stayed here three times now and each time it was great. Really nice room, amazing staff and dinner and breakfast was good too. Karen lowered the price on our last stay which was great due to the price of everything at the moment.
