The Cottage Yes Please - New Delhi

I had no problems. The hot shower may not be working properly. I chose this hotel to avoid the New Delhi metro.

I chose this hotel because of the location and reviews! I got around by Uber so I couldn't explore the area much, but I chose this hotel because it's within walking distance of the station and has a real Indian feel. The price seemed high considering the small size of the room and the old facilities, but I think it's worth the price because of the good location. I stayed in a double bed room for one person, but there was a small table and two cupboards, a hanger pole, and a refrigerator. The room was small, but I could spread out my suitcase and it was enough for sleeping. The air conditioner worked well. There was no soundproofing at all, so I could hear the voices in the hallway and the sounds from outside. There are probably only a few transformers available to rent. My concerns were that the room smelled moldy, the towels were washed but old, the shower temperature could not be adjusted, there were no windows, the lock was hard to open and close from the outside, I couldn't watch TV, the bed was hard, the elevator had an old double manual door, and the refrigerator hardly got cold. I couldn't use the outlet next to the bed. There were no hair dryers available at the front desk. The good thing about this hotel was that the commission fee for exchanging yen to rupees was lower than in Jaipur and Agra. The front desk always had a friendly atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly, and some of them spoke a little Japanese. I didn't have breakfast, but my friend booked with breakfast, and we could choose toast, a side dish, and coffee or tea at the cafe in front of the hotel. It took 30 minutes by Uber taxi from the hotel to the airport, and about 40 minutes even if it was busy. I think it was about 600 yen. By the way, the road is narrow, but there are many hotels and shops, and it is bright even at night and there are not many people, so I didn't feel unsafe even if I went out alone as a woman. In fact, around 9 p.m., I walked around the hotel area before going to the airport and then walked about 5 minutes to the main street to pick up an Uber, but I didn't feel unsafe. (Rickshaws and taxis can enter in front of the hotel.) There was also a shop right in front where you could buy water and snacks. I saw a few Japanese and Korean guests, as well as families and white people. I think it's a safe hotel! The cost performance is very good. If you are sensitive, I think it would be a good idea to have sandals to use in the bath and a garbage bag to put over the toilet.
