This is hotel is so good. The restaurant is Michelin star level. It really is. The people are so kind and willing to help. There is nothing wrong, maybe the rooms are a little old but very much ok. But again, the restaurant is absolutely top level and I am in restaurants 100+ times a year. Michelin Star ready.

As others have said the manager does not have good customer service skills, no offer of help with luggage, not allowed to have a drink outside etc. one could almost feel we were an inconvenience and he’d rather be looking at his computer screen. The rooms are clean but dated, the bathrooms in particular need attention and the breakfast was OK. However these shortcomings can be overlooked because of the excellent restaurant - a very high standard with some interesting combinations, I had the Cassulet ris de veau which was outstanding, and the rest of the party were equally enthusiastic about their choices. Thankfully the waiting staff haven’t picked up the managers poor standards and provided a very friendly and efficient service.

We have been visiting for over 15 years now when we travel in France and are heading home and as ever this year we had a great stop over. It’s always been a comfortable environment to enjoy our last night with the guarantee of an excellent meal in the restaurant, especially the cheese board ! Whilst under previous command, the hotel was like stepping back into a traditional Logis environment and proper silver service in the restaurant, which made it a little less relaxing than it is today. As such it’s lovely to see what the new manager, Anthony, has done to modernise the hotel, the rooms as well as it’s image and service in the restaurant. The restaurant seems always popular with the locals and visitors which is testament to the quality dining experience, with a variety of set menus ranging from €21 to €40 as well as an A La Carte option. The extensive wine list provides a great array of choice from all the main French wine regions. Well done and looking forward to returning next year!

Stayed for a night with friends. Hotel presented as very nest and tidy. The room was a twin room. Quite small but clean and neat. The ensuite had a bath which was a bonus. Room in the roof so warm. The window didn't give much air. There were tea and coffee making facilities. All as expected.

Used this hotel on numerous occasions very handy for autoroute. Bit old style but very clean and very French. Good reasonable dinner.

If you like a warm and friendly welcome from M. le Patron; a helping hand up the stairs with your luggage; and a willingness to provide information about places of local interest, this is perhaps not the hostelry for you. It's a pity because it is centrally located in a pleasant, hospitable Norman town; the garden has recently been attractively and imaginatively planted; and the food is outstanding. Only the core requirements (see above) were missing from our stay there.

Lovely location and great food spoiled by the patron who maybe should consider a change of career. This was a return visit but a change of management means that a further visit is unlikely. What a shame 😢

The photos are brilliant. The reality is completely different. The room was very cramped and downmarket looking--NOTHING like the photos. Much like a 1 star facility. Breakfast was very ordinary--coffee machine, cheap cheese and ham, and everything else pre-packaged.

Very mixed views about this place. We had eaten there in the past and had a really enjoyable mid-day meal – hence this booking and stay. This time, with what I believe was a different host running the place, he was not at all welcoming either in the hotel or restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, we again had a very nice meal. A pity that the lovely fish was served on a sort of rice pudding, but that may well be a personal dislike. Unfortunately, they tried to charge for a full bottle of wine when only a half was ordered and offered no apology whatsoever for their mistake – a great shame. As regards the hotel, I know it is only 2-star, and it was a standard room booked on ***********. Whilst the room was clean, with very clean and crisp bedding, unfortunately you couldn’t swing a cat in it. Additionally, the towels had had their day and some were threadbare, the en-suite shower room had no ventilation as the extractor didn’t work, the fitting holding the shower head fell apart all the time and the loo roll holder was not fixed to the wall correctly and kept on falling off. It could and should have been so much better, as Neufchatel is such a lovely little town.
