Hostal la Ermita

The paella was one of the worst we’ve had and we both left most of it - too soggy , too salty and prawns that were tough and didn’t seem fresh . We complained when our almost full plates were cleared but to no effect and the bill was brought without any reduction in price . When I went to the counter to pay and politely request that they should deduct at least one of the paella portions from our bill , three members of staff confronted me . They shouted at me angrily and told me all their other customers liked their food . Frankly not a pleasant experience and we had noticed earlier that all the staff seemed quite stressed and brusque with customers . They certainly don’t like customers complaining !

Our third visit to this hotel and we can highly recommend staying here. We have always had one of the front rooms with a large sunny balcony. (Ask for this when booking direct to the host). Very clean and well serviced. The restaurant serves top quality meals and their lunchtime menu of the day is great value. A few staff speak and understand some English which just added to the atmosphere of this family run business. Excellent spanish hospitality and will return in the future.

I was staying in the hotel. I had menu del dia in the restaurant. The food was VERY good. 3 courses and a drink for €13. It was delicious! However it was completely RUINED by a rude waiter. And unfortunately I missed the dessert because of that. I was so upset that I had to leave the restaurant. I had enjoyed the main course with a lovely crust bread roll. The Spanish don't do butter, so I poured a little olive oil on the plate instead. When the waiter took my plate he said "You should not eat the olive oil because it's very very expensive"!! What???? I was really shocked and very upset. If they don't want customers to use the olive oil WHY is it on the table?? I was not being wasteful. I was so upset by the way he spoke to me that I had to leave . A lovely meal RUINED!!

Perfect spot renovated apartments truly great job e erything new and airy and bright. Shower fab ,bed so comfy Pool is delightful can't ask for anymore ,?on a main rd but can't hear nothing when windows shut Would definitely stay again staff are lovey as well.
