Merrils Beach Resort II
3.7/5100 Reviews
We stayed at Merrill’s for 3 weeks, this was our first visit to this resort. We used to stay at Grand Pineapple, but of course that’s gone now. We saw quite a few people that we knew from the Pineapple, both at Merrill’s and other resorts up and down the beach. Merrill’s is a lot like the Pineapple, rooms were bigger, but beach was smaller. We were in room 710, it was fine, the shower leaked, we told front desk, we were told to put a towel down. Take an extension cord, no plug in bathroom, only a couple in the whole room. Housekeeping did a great job, clean towels whenever you wanted them. Food was good, not a lot of variety, we did eat out a few times. No light beer, no wine unless you bought it. We took 3 boxes, so that worked out ok. One problem that wasn’t Merrill’s fault was loud music a couple nights every week coming from across the road, once til 4a.m. We think it was coming from Kenny’s Italian restaurant, we were told they had after hours parties. Apparently the police don’t enforce the noise ordinances. The Wi-Fi was free, it worked ok. The day we checked in, I asked about the safe, was given the lock, I asked about a fee for it, was told no charge for safe. The day we checked out, we were told it was $69.00. I said no, relayed what I had been told, guy at the desk tried to call manager but couldn’t get him, so he said ok, no charge. If it matters to you, make sure when you’re checking in about cost. All in all we enjoyed our stay, everyone was great, employees didn’t wear name tags so I can’t remember the names, but all were very nice, friendly, and helpful.

Ok I am going to 100 percent real. I went to royalton for a wedding. I was expecting more for what I paid for.. very expensive hotel you would expect to be treated like royaloty....the resort is ok I can see potential I think during the covid it run down and need a few fix up..I change room many times as rhe sewage back up in the shower and roaches which is expected in resorts and a/c not working properly...the manger fred was very helpful and change us with a complimentary change up. Big up Fred for is professionalism...the front desk customer service not going to lie they greet you but disappear when you need help. I called many times to get hang up on and went to see the desk for help and they walk awY from me. I had to yell at the staff to get help. The diamond club was dope!if u want royalty go to the diamond club.. the grounds are beautiful..I hear from many people they don't get paid enough and that why they act they way they doo. The staff needs to understand we work hard for our money and should be treated with good service no matter what. I tip many of rhe staff...beside the front desk the cleaners and taxi and cook and dinning room employees were amazing. My advise entertainment needs a bot of boost it was a bit boring with the same thing over and over..would I go back again only to the diamond club. Everyone experience is different so I wouldn't tell no one to no go try it out you may get a better experience

I usually come here with my family and this has been one of the worst experiences EVER!! The guest services at the front desk was very insulting with asking me if the person I came with is a part of my party! When asked for more towels I got the wrong set and also when I went to get it myself there was an extra wait time as none was on property. The bartender had a disgusting attitude I could puke my drink with his non friendliness, definitely will turn guests away. When checking out the way they were going on about their second key I’m like do they really think I would want to keep their second key the other person was on the beach when I was checking out and the way the guy at the front desk made it seem like I would like their key was SUCH a turnoff!!!! I WILLL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. The servers at breakfast and dinner were nice and as always a big shoutout to the lifeguards!! The hospitality never changes when we stay here amongst them! The entire front desk needs to be FIRED and that bartender!
Azul Beach Resort Negril

The resorts itself is pretty nice. Our room was clean and the A/C in the room worked well. The A/C in the restaurants and bars were not great. Sweated alot while waiting for dinner unless we stayed in our room till time to eat. They dont really have any nice indooor bar. The food was pretty good but did notice some unsafe food handling practices and most of my party experienced diarrhea at some points during the trip. The Italian restaurant was the best... The restaurants and bars ran out of food and liquors often. We never knew what any specific bar may or may not be out of. Only 2 kayaks and 2 paddles boards for guest; seems cheap considering they have over 250 rooms. About 75% of the employees didn't have good personalities and could use some training on hostility; compared to the crusies and AIs in Mexico they weren't close. The 2 best employees we encounter were Christina at the swim up bar between building 8/9 and Dwayne at the main outside bar by the lobby. Both we very friendly and personable. Christina made our vacation enjoyable and the most fun! We enjoyed several days of hanging in the pool chating and laughing with her. My entire group loved her and would want to come back to just see her!! ❤️ Overall good experience, however the resort has alot of room for improvement.
Tamboo Resort

Lovely hotel right on the beach. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfy. The beach is what really makes this hotel, lt really was a one minute walk to the beach which also had free sunbeds. The staff also made our stay special the receptionist was so helpfulhome f and friendly, Rockie on the bar was lovely and the security man was helpful. If you want a budget stay in Jamaica, this is the place to stay, very secure also. The bar/restaurant on site has a good range of meals, could offer more at nightime but you can easily walk a few steps along the beach to the restaurants a few doors away. If you want 5 star all inclusive luxury, this isnt the place for you but if you want a homely reasonably priced home from home, this is the place for you. Just one tip, bring a hairdryer, they dont have them.
Sunset at the Palms Resort - Adults Only - All Inclusive

I was thrilled to experience Jamaica for the first time, and as it happens we were extremely fortunate to have our stay at Sunset at the Palms in Negril. From our initial welcome by Tobian on the concierge team, to our last day exit the experience was top-notch. I highly recommend the resort. Everyone contributed to our enjoyment and appreciation for the beautiful country of Jamaica and our lovely resort, but to add some specific names, we thank Tobian, who gave us our first impression of the resort's quality, Cleon, who was heading the concierge team for our stay, and Andre, Aldain, Sashana, and Tafari who were also a part of the concierge team and were always there to lend a helping hand; Kadian McPherson front desk manager, the sous chef Chef Myrie, also Chef Kenroy, Chef Fitzroy, Chef Sheldon, Mrs. Barrett, and the entire restaurant staff who made all of our dining experiences memorable and delectable. We appreciate Mr. MacFarlane and the security team for keeping us safe during our stay. Our thanks also to Ms. Allen, Mr. Jackson, and the housekeeping team for keeping up our accommodations during our visit. We learned so much during our on-site botanical gardens tour from head gardener Lynford, his expertise aided our enthusiasm for the lovely plants, flowers, and birds we observed. I was able to receive an impromptu swimming lesson gratis from Clavon at the pool, and my thanks to him for his suggestions to improve my fitness. I do not have names, but thank you to the gentlemen and ladies who staffed poolside bar, especially the gentleman working the day of 7 August 2022. Also thank you to the other bartenders who also provided us with lovely beverage concoctions. On our excursions to YS Falls and Black River (highly recommended) our driver Mr. Sinclair was a literal fount of knowledge, not only providing a singularly smooth ride, but also giving us detailed information about the parishes and towns we passed through, and making our day trip the most memorable and delightful. Thanks also to Lacia at the gift shop, we purchased some needed items there, and quality was high. We enjoyed some entertaining nights on site as well, with the inimitable piano playing skills of Paul, who has a vast and varied repertoire that we were able to enjoy. I could go on and on! We definitely would love to return in the future! Thank you so much Sunset at the Palms for such a fabulous first stay in Negril, Jamaica!
