Not a bad hotel, when after the flight you want to take a breather and not start off right away, I mean, around the island) We got there in the off-season, there were few guests, so the rented tuk-tuk fit into the small parking lot without problems. Friendly staff with a welcome drink and adapters for sockets for your charger, the room almost)) with a view. There is an exit to the sea, although I'm not sure that it is comfortable to swim there, but the sunsets are gorgeous ;) The pool was very useful. Keep in mind that there is no infrastructure nearby, not wanting to have dinner at the hotel, we went in search and looked for at least something for quite a long time. Perhaps it was necessary not to drive around the neighborhood, but to give the local chef a chance, since the breakfast was quite simple, but tasty

Great way to end our stay in Sri Lanka. Property away from hustle & bustle, quiet area steps to the beach. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool. The room we had on the to floor (3rd) has great views, balcony. Wonderful sunset! Room was clean. We did not seem to get hot water, luckily given the heat a cool shower was okay! Restaurant food was good, service from Staff excellent. A lovely haven in Negombo,

Excellent service! "Get a problem, solve a problem" is their motto. Need dry-cleaning on New Year's Eve? No problem! They find a way to say yes, instead of no. The food is really good, they will cook to order at excellent prices. The ocean is 50m away, you can see and hear it, and the pool is magical, especially with the lights at night

It is a mystery to me, how this hotel gets this good rating?! In 16 days Sri Lanka round trip, the worst accommodation with the worst food and the worst location. The hotel has its best times. We were shocked by the beach..... we have never experienced such a dirty and littered beach in our lives. The food tastes like convenience food, which was definitely not fresh and only tasted like flavor enhancer. In relation also the most expensive food of our complete round trip .... 1000 rupees for a small portion of fries and then be so cheeky & add 10% tip automatically. In sum, a complete washout. We also booked a cab to the airport through the hotel and paid in advance, the driver was punctual & nice, but when we arrived at the airport he demanded an additional about 600, - rupees for the expressway, this was never mentioned in the hotel and was not fair. The only thing that stood out positively was the nice staff, but unfortunately that is not enough for a pleasant stay. Sorry for the review, but they should think about it and should change something.

Ziegler Cottage was our comfortable home for a few days while we visited Negombo. It is easy to reach from the airport, and you can take tuk-tuks or the bus into Negombo. Our room had a sea view and a balcony with sea breezes making airconditioning unnecessary. The waves were too high for us to swim in the sea but the pool made up for it. Food, especially the fruit selection at breakfast, was very good. Staff were responsive and very hard-working. The hotel can organize trips--our all-day outing to a spice plantation, the Ridee Viharaya Temple, and the elephant park was perfect. Everyone goes out of their way to accommodate your needs. The hotel owner drove us to our destination when our ride did not show up. Thank you for a memorable stay! we look forward to returning.
