Lunch out at the country pub. Excellent menu with local ingredients. Spiced cauliflower soup was an absolute delight followed by duck breast. Mediocre pud and slightly slow service but all round a pleasant enough experience. £40 each including non alcoholic drinks.

We first went to the Pheasant a couple of years ago after our daughter in law found it and took us out when we were on holiday in the area. We were delighted than and when the opportunity came to take a favourite cousin there, we jumped at the chance. First to note is the excellence of the food. Clearly there is a chef here who knows what he/she is doing. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted extremely good. Then the service which was simple, unfussy and very competent in every regard from two extremely pleasant young ladies. And then the aymosphere. The Pheasant is everything you want a village pub restaurant to be - the only possible downsides, and it was our fault we stayed so long enjoying everything, was that the chairs are not really built for comfort and we could have done with more upholstery! But overall a visit to be repeated as soon as we can. We highly recommend the Pheasant

Booked for my sisters birthday, table of 8. Staff were great as was the food and drink. The pubs rep for good food certainly lived up didnt disappoint! The back room was a little quiet, maybe a little music on to create a bit of atmosphere? The fire alarm going off 4 times during our meal didnt help the eardrums either, but these things happen. Would certainly go back!

Another wonderful day again with great food. Room 2 very clean, comfortable bed, powerful shower, tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the room, body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided. The pheasant has a very talented chef which shows in the food. For our starters we had crispy belly pork, Gyoza, Bacon Dashi, Soy Pickled Cabbage; Salt & Pepper Chicken Thigh, Korean Sauce, Spring Onion and Sesame and for mains Bridgnorth Rump, chips, spinach purée, confit tomato and crispy onions; Seared Cornish fillet, pipperade , crab filleted and herb aioli. Dessert was a sublime ginger crème brûlée with rhubarb. We dined outside on the patio area which is quite romantic in the evening. Our little Dog came with us, they cook him 2 sausages so he wasn’t left out. I can highly recommend the pheasant

Went for Sunday lunch, it’s always the best! However, this time it was not the best. We had beef and pork. Beef was beautiful, pork a little tougher than usual, Yorkshire puds not warm. Cauliflower ? (not sure if it should have been cauliflower cheese) it was brown on top with a sparse sprinkling of cheese, in a white watery liquid. The real disappointment for us, we’re the roast potatoes, they were chewy!! Is the best way I can describe them……. They are usually the BEST, super crunchy and fluffy inside. Really not sure what happened! Don’t think we will be returning anytime soon!,😢😢

Went for our Anniversary meal. Absolutely excellent meal. Went for the Welsh rarebit and lobster salad. Well what can I say. Welsh rarebit left me wanting more. Followed by duck , delicious. Local Ludlow gin. A sweet chocolate dessert. Not a morsel left on any plate. Can’t get enough of this delightful food or service. Excellent. 4 th visit won’t be long.

Yet again, another fabulous Sunday roast, can't fault the food and in all the times we've been, we've never had a bad meal! 3 courses £26.95, definitely well worth it, and we will definitely be back Ham hock terrine and prawn/smoked salmon tian were lovely starters. Beef cooked to perfection as always, can't fault it! Staff are pleasant and helpful

Visited The Pheasant on 17th February. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I ordered Beef Wellington which was superb in taste and presentation. I then had sticky toffee pudding which was very light and delicious and left me wanting more. My father in law had the lamb which was also excellent. Definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant. I will be returning soon .
