Hydroussa Hotel is right in the middle of Hydra town – a perfect location! It’s a beautiful old family estate that has been turned into a hotel, and you can really feel the history. Some parts of the building, like the room opposite the reception, are even kept as a little museum. The hotel has a modern and comfortable style inside, which is a nice contrast to the traditional houses of Hydra. We asked for a double bed, and even though it was made from two twin beds, we never felt the gap. We slept very well! The rooms are super clean, air-conditioned, and come with a small fridge and a safe. The doors and windows are soundproof, and the bathroom, while a little tight for my taste, had great water pressure and nice toiletries. Breakfast was also very good, with a variety of cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, cakes, and drinks. You can enjoy it inside or in the lovely courtyard. But the best part? The staff! They were incredibly kind, polite, and always smiling. They did everything to make our stay perfect. Every request was met with a friendly "yes," which really added to the warm Greek hospitality. This is now “our” family hotel, and we can’t wait to come back!

Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect hotel…loved the feel of an intimate hotel, where everyone “knows your name.” Had 30th Anniversary Greek cruise followed by 2 nights in Hydra. My sister who is a world traveler visited Hydra and made the reservation based on her visits here. The courtyard is unbelievably beautiful with the lemon trees and animals that live here (cats, ducks, mules). Would not recommend if you’re handicapped as there is no elevator but aside from this, would highly recommend this to all others. Staff super friendly and helpful. I hope to make it back there again in the next 3-4 years. It was a real treat.

We loved the courtyard garden and the amazing range of choice for breakfast. Our room was comfortable, quiet and everywhere was very clean. The hotel is a beautiful building, very close to the harbour and easy to get to everywhere. We would definitely be happy to stay there again.

An oasis of calm set behind the bustling port. Fantastic healthy breakfast options. Friendly staff and refurbished rooms are gorgeous and clean with all amenities. Beach towels available at reception, hairdryers in room, air con and fridge available to buy own water.

Would not recommend for anyone pregnant. I wish I could say better things about this property. Planned this trip months in advance for a friend's wedding, after a stint in the ER I was told it was no longer safe to travel while pregnant and I tried countless time to call for even a partial refund - no answer. I finally connected over email but they're response was just: "There is nothing we can do." They finally called me after I didn't check in and after I explain it to them and they again refused to help. A friend who actually stayed there didn't have a stellar experience either. Medical emergency aside, there are many other options on the island, I would think twice about this one.

Hydra is beautiful serenity especially if you are coming from Athens. With no cars allowed on the island upon docking at the harbour you are greeted by donkeys and their owners to take your luggage to your accommodation. You have to take water taxi’s to reach any beaches (which are mostly pebbly so beach shoes are essential) Hydroussa Hotel is a convenient, easy (slightly uphill), 6 mins walk from the harbour. Located at the top of a gorgeous garden square at the end of the traditional, curved, Greek streets. There is a supermarket nearby (3 mins walk) and some eateries. The donkeys sleep outside the hotel and live side by side the local family of ducks and cats. It’s a sheer delight to walk back to your hotel and hear the quack of ducks, it’s one of the many small but lovely aspects of a stay at Hydroussa. We had a large room on the ground floor. Rooms are traditional and therefore basic but they have all the essentials. A good shower (over the bath), fridge, hair dryer and wardrobe space for clothes. There is a TV but we couldn’t get any international channels. The beds were wooden framed and comfortable with plenty of windows for natural air and light. We ate breakfast out on the terrace. It’s buffet with plenty of choice from the usual egg choice, meat plus continental, fresh bread, yoghurts, mousse and cakes. I still miss the Greek yoghurt with walnuts and honey. The staff are like a family, very welcoming and happy to give recommendations. Beaches – water taxi’s €10 return/beds EUR20 a set Spiliar Vlychos Plakes Beach Restaurants Plates, Psaropoula, Kai Kremmidi (gyros) Two female friends, aged 43, from UK.

This hotel is a peaceful heaven, one of the very few green and open places in Hydra, close to the harbor and no stairs to walk. It’s colonial atmosphere, nice furniture, high ceilings and helpful staff are a good contrast to Hydra’s busy and often crowded harbor. Breakfast in the patio is exquisite and make you want to stay there with a good book. Very quiet and efficient AC

A beautiful old building that is fully renovated. An attentive and welcoming service. The bedsheets were perfectly pressed and fresh daily. Hydra is a fantastic destination and Hydrousa should be the hotel of choice. The breakfast was simple but creative, tasty and very satisfying.
