Homewood Suites by Hilton Woodbridge

Needs a refresh My husband and I stayed in this hotel for six nights. We chose it primarily for two reasons. Close to Stonebridge for shopping if necessary, and they also welcome dogs. I read many reviews on various sites, so I knew what to expect. Or so I thought, I did not. I will share the pros and cons of this hotel. Pros— Dogs are welcome, and a little gift was given to ours. Outdoor doggie poop pick-up bags were provided, even though we always have ours with us, attached to her leash. Every employee we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful, especially the staff serving breakfast. The room was a nice size with a nice mini kitchen, fully stocked. The air conditioning in the bedroom and lobby was working well. The bed was not too hard, but not as cushy as I like; however, it suited my husband. Lastly, the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Cons— Our room needed a fresh coat of paint; the walls were marked, and it just looked terrible. The lampshades were brittle and cracked; one would not stay straight on the lamp. There is no safe in the room, which meant every time we left the room, our valuables came with us. What a pain! The wallpaper was peeling in the shower room. Why not tile that room? There wasn’t a fan in there either; it got very hot and steamy. The bathroom offered no extras. No Q-tips, cotton balls, etc. I was surprised there was tissue. The towels were rough and scratchy, not soft. The road noise at night was hard to get used to. One thing I was not aware of (and I take responsibility for not reading about it) was that housekeeping only comes every other day. However, on day two, they never arrived, so we had to request supplies, including towels, washcloths, and coffee. They said that our "do not disturb” sign was out; however, my husband even watched me put it inside. We left the room by 9:00 am that morning, and I’m thinking they just never checked back. Day four—Our room was “refreshed”? Towels, washcloths, and coffee came, but no bed making, etc. It was the strangest situation. It felt like our room had stayed dirty for a week. Very unacceptable for a hotel. One last thing I need to mention is the furnishings. The chairs in the breakfast area and the sofas in our guest room were old and tattered. It just plain felt old and worn out. The desk chair in our room had a broken arm that I had to keep putting back into place. I took photos only to prove that I am not exaggerating. I would not stay here again—dog or no dog.

I stayed here after I worked the Beyonce concert at Northwest stadium. About 1/2 hour drive from the Stadium off I95. Arrived late (early Saturday morning) and was checked in by a very nice person. The breakfast was exceptionally good with glassware, china and silverware. Fancy. I like it. Free breakfast and free parking. 5 stars!

Good: location to shopping and restaurants; clean room; clean bathroom; comfortable beds; very nice staff; buffet breakfast typical, not great, but does the job. Pillows not the collapsable type like most hotels of similar quality. Bathrooms by the morning buffet are clean. Plenty of parking. Bad: one of the two elevators were broken. If you can't walk the stairs and have a room above Floor 1, there is a lot of extra walking. If you have more than a little luggage, then long trips around the hotel to use the 1 elevator. Served our needs but the broken elevator was annoying.

Arrived Christmas Eve and were told at check-in that there would be no breakfast or housekeeping on Christmas Day. I’m all for folks having Christmas Day off but you’ve got to tell people in advance. We would have made sure we picked up something for breakfast before we arrived if we had known. Then the housekeeping staff half-assed the cleaning on the 26th as well, so we still had trash in our room when we checked out after three nights. Finally the sofa bed was just awful. Rickety and squeaky, unusable as a sofa bed. Had to sleep on it set up as a sofa.

I’m upset with our stay for a few reasons, I booked thinking we were staying in a highly rated hotel but instead the outside did not match the inside. Our room was very dirty first with the entrance, dirty walls, door barely shuts. Paint coming off the walls, living room is so dated and not inviting! The bathroom seemed like the tub was painted but the accommodations were poor also meaning crappy towels and shampoo etc. the beds and air conditioning were great so that’s where the 3 stars came from. Breakfast buffet was sad but very clean area.

so clean and such great staff from the front desk to the housekeeping to the maintenance everyone is lovely, complimentary coffee and tea all day a beautiful complimentary buffet breakfast Wednesday evening complimentary wine and food the foom os spacious clean with a great fridge microwave hob and dishwasher i think its a lovely hotel for a long time stay home from home.
