We did a 12 day Nile cruise end April/beginning May, organized by a Belgrade PUTNIK Travel Agency in conjunction with the Cairo CLEOPATRA Egypt Tours. An unbelievably intense itinerary was handled in the best (humanly) possible way by both agencies – from the take off in Belgrade, connecting flight in Vienna to the pick-up in Cairo, transfer to the hotel in Giza, overnight train transfer from Cairo to Luxor and back, boarding the ship, to visiting an incredible number of locations. During all this, we were happy to have the invaluable services of both agencies’ representatives/guides at our disposal. These two travel agencies organized our stay in a small, but very convenient hotel in Giza – The Pyramid Edge Hotel, which offered basic, nevertheless quite sufficient accommodation – spacious and clean rooms, comfortable beds, adequate bathrooms, extremely welcoming and helpful staff, and above all - a terrace view of the pyramids and the Sphinx at arm’s length. We even had the pyramids view from our room and under bathroom shower! Breakfast included was basic but sufficient – no one will be hungry. Thank you, Mr. Ashraf of the Pyramid Edge Hotel, a kind and friendly hotel GM/owner(?) who was especially attentive of the guests, willing to hear/correct any complaints and to assist regarding special requests. Special thanks to Mr. Isham (security) who tended to all our needs (my and my son’s), even when we were not aware we had them.
