I recently stayed at the Azal Pyramids Hotel in Giza in July 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I encountered numerous issues that make it impossible for me to recommend this hotel to others. First, the rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The condition of the bathroom, in particular, was deteriorated and required immediate attention. The housekeeping service was virtually non-existent; towels were removed and not replaced, the bed was not made, and bins were left unemptied. These are basic services one would expect in any hotel, yet they were consistently neglected during my stay. My experience at the bar was also concerning. The staff insisted that drinks could only be paid for in cash and not by card, which is completely untrue. This tactic seems designed to leave guests without proof of payment, potentially allowing the charges to be added to your bill at checkout. I strongly advise keeping all receipts and payment confirmations to avoid falling victim to this dishonest practice. The bartender, who appears to be in charge, was particularly involved in this scheme. The reception staff, sadly, were not much better. Their behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional, which only added to the overall negative experience. To top it all off, when our group was leaving the hotel and already on the bus to the airport, hotel staff attempted to stop us, claiming we had an outstanding bar bill. This led to an embarrassing situation where we had to present not only the receipts provided by the hotel but also the exact times of the cash payments we had made. It was a disgraceful end to an already unpleasant stay. In summary, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Don’t be deceived by the appealing photos of the pool. The overall experience was terrible, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
